Who will be the bigger star: Canelo or Joshua?

I think AJ has to come to America before he can be a bigger star than Canelo. It's there to be taken though.

Floyd could of easily filled up football stadiums if he just cared about attendance, but Floyd saw the bigger picture and fought were the money is.
To cut things short, you're talking about less than 50 indoor venues (counting the venues just built after Floyd was already 'Money" Mayweather, you're talking about less than 4 0 indoor venues).
nice try

If Canelo defeats the likes of GGG and Saunders to unify 160, that far exceeds anything Joshua can accomplish. Add to that the possibility of adding a title at 168, and he is the biggest star in boxing.
Tom Cruise was the biggest star in Hollywood and has never won an Oscar
Joshua simply has cross-over star quality (looks/size/division/speaks English) whilst Canelo not so much
To put things into perspective, both are sponsored by Under Armour yet Joshua's photo has been in the stores I have visited in Sydney, Hong Kong and London recently whilst Canelo's has not

Can you even name the middleweight champion during Ali's run?

Hagler was MW champ during Holmes reign, and Hagler was by far a bigger star than Holmes. Hopkins was as big a star or bigger than Lewis, Bowe, Ruiz, etc.

Let alone canelo fight with cotto which drew about double the revenue of khan fight or the Chavez fight on sat which likely generates the most of any canelo fight except for when he fought floyd.
Joshua may of set the UK domestic ppv record but it's nowhere near the overall PPV record or the amounts generated from canelo's top PPVs.
Also, $70 is £55, and the Joshua-Klitschko ppv was £20 in the UK. Still a significant difference, but not as much as you were suggesting.
And Joshua earned close to £15M($20M) for Saturday - at the very least on a par with what Canelo earned for fighting Khan, probably more.

Some of the worst NBA teams draw higher attendance then Floyd fights. Yet Floyd made more money then biggest stars in the NBA. Attendance numbers means nothing it's about revenue. If Floyd cared about selling the most tickets to break attendance records he had tons of bigger stadiums he could of fought in. But stayed in small Vegas venues to make more money it's that simple.

Canelo is the man.
Joshua, however, is a transcendent star.
A HW always has a higher ceiling. Joshua is built like a superhero, has massive power, a 100% KO ratio, he speaks well...He's in position to be the biggest name in sports.
