According to Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBF, WBC, WBA, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), a rematch with Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) is not going to happen any time soon. Last month at New York's Madison Square Garden, Golovkin won a close twelve round unanimous decision over Jacobs. The scores were 114-113, 115-112, 115-112.

GGG only fought twice last year because Jacobs dragged his feet in negotiations. They were supposed to fight on December 10th. GGG's promoters had MSG and HBO locked down for that date last year. Don't blame Jacobs greed for GGG's inactivity.
There is no reason unless he fights canelo that he doesn't fight Jacobs next. And unless you said floyd doesn't have to fight maidana next he can wait up to 6 fights for a rematch then you a fraud. Unless you said ward doesn't have to rematch Kovalev next he can wait 6 fights down the road you are fraud. But it's strange because the majority of GGG fans took the opposite position for these other fighters and now it's different because its GGG. LMAO
And there are plenty of reasons for Jacobs to wait. First of all, he lost and while it was a close fight he got dropped and outpunched. Lord knows Jacobs he to be dragged kicking and screaming into giving Mora a rematch after Mora dropped him in their first fight. Secondly, GGG has mandatories to take care of. Being GGG's mandatory WAS THE ONLY REASON JACOBS STEPPED UP TO FIGHT GGG. And you know who might be one of GGG's mandatories. Jermall Charlo. The WBC ranked Charlo #2 and ordered a fight between him and Heiland to determine GGG's next mandatory. So its not like GGG does not have a tough opponent looming amongst his mandatories.Comment

It isn't a bad fight to rematch Jacobs but hardly a priority. The first fight was close but clear enough. Jacobs was knocked down, out-landed and when the fight was over, looked a little beaten up while Golovkin was totally unmarked (unusual for him actually). In the mean time maybe Jacobs should try his luck at 168. He's in the ring at about 180, SMW is where he belongs anyway.Comment
