The facts don't support me when you make up your own Alternative facts; I guess you're a Trump Supporter. Ward fought Rodriguez at 168 damn near in 2014. So in 2015/16 he still could've made the weight AND said he would, but your man crush opted to chase cinnamon colored waterfalls. The same deal was offered to them as Kovalev and one decided he would actually fight. The other stayed fighting B classers at MW. Ward was forced to move up because there was no comp. Gennady was just scared, and continues to act scared by not fighting a well deserved rematch. Floyd did with Castillio and Maidana, Ward is with Kovalev, but your boy doesn't seem to have that in him.

Ward's last fight at 168 was against Chad Dawson in September 2012. GGG made his HBO debut a week prior against Grzegorz Proksa. Ward only fought 2 times in the 3 and a half years after the Dawson fight Ward only fought twice with his lowest weight for a fight being 170 pounds. So the facts just don't support you buddy. All Ward's talk about GGG was empty nonsense that was nothing more than a blatent attempt to use GGG's burgoning reputation to remain relevent. Well obvious to everyone but GGG haters apparently. He had no intentions of fighting GGG because he knew he couldn't make 168 without cutting off an arm.
And once again, when your option is to fight or retire then you have no real choice so stop acting like honoring his contract is an act worthy of a parade.
TIP: as soon as you try to pretend that Golovkin never ducked Ward, all the REAL posters can see whats upComment

Secondly, you seem to forget that at the time it look like there was a chance for GGG to fight at least one of Cotto and Canelo. (However, I had the sneaking su****ion that both guys would duck GGG). But on one hand you have two popular, exciting fighters who would bring GGG more money than he's ever seen, more recognition amongst the casual fans than he's ever experienced and who would fight GGG in or within 5 pounds of his own division. On the other hand you have a supremely talented fighter who couldn't draw flies to *****, was extremely inactive and most recently fought at 170. That's not ducking that's common sense. The Ward fight will still be there in the future. It made perfect sense to try and work towards those other fights first.

Secondly, Jacobs will get his rematch. Stop acting as if he won't get it. Also, Ward had to give Kovalev his rematch. He was contractually obligated so stop talking about him going through with the rematch as if he had any real choice. He didn't do "what champions do" he did what people "who don't want to get sued for breach of contract" do.Last edited by yankees7448; 04-17-2017, 07:33 AM.Comment

Whoops. You're right about the Rodriquez fight. It was Rodriguez who came in at 170.
While I admit I misread boxrec's info on the weight for Ward/Rodriguez you're the one going full Trump alternate facts here. Ward/Rodriguez was November 2013. Ward didn't fight again until June 2015 when he fought Paul Smith and it wasn't at 168. So there is no way of knowing he'd be able to make 168 again but considering he moved up to 175 afterwards there is pretty good reason to believe he couldn't.

So let me get this straight. Andre Ward was sitting at 168 begging for a fight with GGG while GGG was sitting at 160 begging for a fight with Cotto/Canelo. You're dogging GGG for trying to do what Andre Ward did. The only difference is that A) GGG was actually fighting people while Ward was doing his talking from the sidelines and B) unlike Andre Ward GGG isn't addicted to Chicken McNuggets and thus has no problem hitting the limit for his weight class.
Secondly, Jacobs will get his rematch. Stop acting as if he won't get it. Also, Ward had to give Kovalev his rematch. Ward was out of the ring for a year and a half so he came back in a non-title tune-up at a CW. There was no reason to go to the full 168. That doesn't mean he couldn't have (which he and his coach have said he could) it just means he didn't.
Secondly, you forget that ggg's coach said it himself that he didn't think that the fight with Canelo would happen. The option was still on the table to fight Ward, but they chose to wait. They had a guaranteed fight or a chance at a fight and chose the latter. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
Third, I'm dogging ggg for doing the opposite of what Ward did. He saw that the other guy was scared so he moved up to get a fight. He didn't say I'm just going to keep begging, he took out a boogeyman and grabbed his belts.
Lastly, the article says otherwise as it comes to Jacobs getting his rematch anytime soon. ggg is going to avoid that Jacobs rematch like the plague. He knows its a fight he would more than likely lose. Its a fight that deserved an immediate rematch, if any other fighter went to search for new opponents when the deserved rematch was in front of him you would be screaming duck and coward and whatever else you guys here say. Bottom line is, he should do this fight now. He knows it and his team does, but they know it will kill the Canelo fight because Danny would take the WLast edited by MC Hammer; 04-17-2017, 08:45 AM.Comment

You and I both know Danny Jacobs would take the Canelo fight over the GGG rematch in a heartbeat. Lets not pretend otherwise.Comment
