just so long as this doesn't fk the Kovalev fight
we already know that the IBF has no respect for rematches because of the way they stripped Fury
if they do not talk to Ward, and work with him..... then they can pick up that shht from the bin and look like fools, AGAIN
Ward could simply vacate the IBF, rematch Kovalev..... and then take that belt from Beterbiev whenever he wants
of all the ****ty ABC organisations, the IBF need to learn their place
I got no problem with them if they work with the fighters to come to the best conclusion for boxing..... but they would need to have a MUCH better ranking system in order to justify strictly honoring their own rules, whilst walking all over every other sanctioning body and fighter

I agree
and if they work with Ward/Kovalev to ensure that their guy is NEXT..... then no problem
but if they were to behave like they did with Fury..... and strip Ward for refusing to fight Beterbiev because he is committed to a rematch with Kovalev..... then that decision will confirm their standing as the ****tiest sanctioning body on the planet
good to hear that aint happening
they could at least help themselves, if they are unwilling to help boxing..... stripping Fury, only to watch their belt get handed around by a bunch of rookies/prospects..... was stupidity personified
a common-sense decision made by a ruling board beats the living shht out of an inflexible "rule" that will obviously make the situation worse

Man f*** that s*** how can you make other fighters jump through hoops to get to No.2 as the IBF does and then hand, HAND the No.1 spot to a bloke with 10 fights on his record. Make him have an eliminator against one of the top 15, surely someone will take the fight f***!

Doesn't help that the list of other IBF contenders includes a couple of Sauerland fighters and two other Germany-based ones who will never be allowed to fight somebody as good as Beterbiev. Kovalev is the only one of the five contenders who would be willing to fight him, and hopefully he has a date with Ward first

I'm a Ward guy, but I don't really mind
Beterbiev - along with every other relevant fighter - should be given fair consideration. If he can prove that he made genuine attempts to fight the guys who are in front of him, AND if the guys who are in front of him have also been given due consideration by the IBF (and they were, according to this article)..... then fk them, Beterbiev deserves his chance, and if they won't give him a shot then they need to stand aside
if they object, then they can fight Beterbiev
personally, I don't think he's quite ready yet..... but, the same argument could have been said of Jacobs before facing Golovkin
mandating Beterbiev to Ward NEXT, under threat of Ward being stripped should he proceed with the Kovalev rematch..... would be UTTER STUPIDITY from the IBF, and imho would relegate them to being viewed as a strictly second-rate organisation full of buffoons
and there is a good argument for that already
