My opinion of Gonzalez only grew even more during that fight, even though I felt Rungvisai deserved the win

For a forum called "Non Stop Boxing" there are a lot of people around who not only DKSAB but seem to actually hate it

Agreed. I think the only thing you can say about Gonzalez is that the fighting bigger fighters means he wont get many KO's and will take more punishment then he did in lower weights.

He surely hasn't been exposed or is undeserving of his p4p status.

He's just a little guy doing the best he can against bigger guys.

still.. pound for pound greats don't lose to bums like that period. I don't care what weight it is.

Chocolatito should've never been ranked above Ward. total disrespect. if Ward lost to a 14-1 underdog former garbage collector with a padded record he'll get torched.

        Cuadras beat him too imo.

why all the excuses just because he's a "little guy" fighting other "little guys" that are too damn big for him.

fact is most people didn't know who tf he was before HBO hyped him.

Absolutely agree with you. Gonzalez remains in my Top3 P4P and if anything, my appreciation for him as a fighter has increased tremendously because we saw a side of him that we have not seen before - the tough as nails, ultra aggressive, dare to be great brawler.

He is hated on by Floydiots because he dared to come so close to his unbeaten streak. That, and he is an exciting and very talented fighter.

IDK why the F Floyd Mayweather is mentioned in this thread.

I looked up Ruvingsai boxrec and that guy has the true definition of a padded record. just look at how many guys made their debuts against him. if not that he's fighting mofos with 37 and 20 losses.

Yes he has fought a lot of journeyman but Thai's always do, the matchmaking is totally different. Just because he was brought along different to how fighters from other Countries tend to be doesn't mean he's not a good fighter. Its now crystal clear he is. Anybody who watched him vs Cuadras should of known he was a handful.
Southpaw with that kinda durability and power alone makes him a problem.

He has fought a lot of debut opponents. He himself was matched vs Yaegashi. The matchmaking is different in Asia. Boxing history is littered with quality Thai fighters with crazily padded records.

I was actually somewhat surprised (even for this site) to see some of the hate after the loss.

This is just another dumb comment^^^^^

If anything I've seen Floyd's fans gravitate toward Gonzalez

If you can watch that fight and come away with the conclusion that either of those fighters are bums, you really don't know boxing

Gonzalez has beaten three reigning titlists (Niida, Yaegashi and Cuadras), two former titlists (Viloria and Sosa) and four fighters who won titles after he beat them (Estrada, Rodriguez, Takayama and Yaegashi), plus Arroyo who arguably beat Ruenroeng in a title fight, and evidently many people thought he also beat Sor Rungvisai on the weekend, who is a former titlist himself. That's nine good wins and one close loss to a good fighter. Ward only has six. Also, Gonzlaez has moved up 10 lbs since his first title fight, a gain of 9.5%, while Ward has moved up 7 lbs since his first title fight, a gain of ~4%
