I 100% believe that Golovkin is after Hopkins record

he has been mentioning it for years

    that will be next

THAT is why he refused the 15mil to fight Canelo

when he breaks Hopkins record, the Canelo fight will likely happen..... they will accept his offer

most likely..... " for the fans " LMAO

Yep! Older and a lot richer too ...so not as hungry maybe.... Wasn't it Hagler who said it's hard to get up at 5 and run in the morning when you,re in silk PJs? ... Or maybe he did overtrain... who knows... Gotta give Jacobs credit. But like i said ... something wasn,t right. He seemed out of gas after 6 rounds... breathing heavy.

        maybe he was over-rated / over-hyped ?

maybe levels do count in boxing, like knowledgeable observers have been saying for YEARS

maybe you guys should stop drinking the kool-aid and then making silly excuses to justify why you were wrong?

thou i agree sanchez is quite w/e lol, sometimes he must keep his mouth shut, he even said golovkin would wreck ward, kovalev and stevenson, that's why many people expect him to live up his claim
          100% in agreement...

Knowledgeable observers (pros, coaches, analysts,...) have been recogninzing GGG's talent for years! That is a fact.

You obviously don't fit that categorie... but you want to so much! I guess that makes you a wannabe...(your 17 000 posts will account for that - dude, don't you have things to do? Get a girl...get out of the house, get a hobby...or a job, but please, do something!).

            Anyway,

              Anyway,

no, "knowledgeable..... pros, coaches, analysts" have been saying that Golovkin has fought nobody, and needs to test himself against better competition before anybody can call him great

and as we saw, they were correct

              even Sanchez admitted that yesterday.....

Sanchez: Golovkin Not Slipping; Opposition Has Just Been Better!.....
NEW YORK – The question was inevitable. Following back-to-back performances that created some doubt about Gennady Golovkin’s invincibility, is Golovkin starting to show signs of slippage? The undefeated middleweight champion is, after all, just three weeks shy of his 35th birthday.

The one thing Canelo has that would bother GGG is fast hands and his combination punching. However, he has cement feet and I don't think he would have the ring generalship to last the distance and his stamina issues.

It's like this, watch a replay of the fight if you were smart enough to record it. While DJ kept it close, GGG clearly had the fight in control and justifiably won the bout. DJ ought to be very glad they don't have 15 round fight these days because he was gassing out quickly in the last three rounds and anyone with any sense could see that GGG was gaining more and more control of the fight. Personally, I think GGG gave too much caution in the first few rounds and should have applied more pressure sooner. And what is the deal with DJ trying to drag GGG down to the mat with him during the KD??!! GGG's jab was snapping DJ's head back in much the same way as he did to Lemieux. DJ did have a few impressive flurries here and there, but only connected about 20% of the time. I think it was a cheap move to skip the weigh in for the IBF 2nd day weigh in knowing he was contracted to fight for that belt along with the other belts, and trying to switch stances throughout the fight was a futile effort to throw GGG's timing off. After round 6 or 7, it is obvious that GGG was loosing respect for DJ's power.
GGG has Danny figured out and in a rematch, would probably drop Jacobs inside the distance. But will somebody please for the love of God get the guy a translator. If you need additional proof that GGG won this fight, look at the numbers. Numbers don't lie, nor does the face of Jacobs after the fight. He was clearly getting busted up and is lucky the fight came to an end. Collapsing into the ropes after the final bell looked weak too. Yet GGG looked relatively unscathed after the fight and ready to go for a few more rounds. I am disappointed that GGG didn't go to the body more, but should they have a rematch, I am sure GGG will do just that and get Jacobs out of there in quicker fashion.
DJ gave a fine performance in defeat, but he was just out boxed and out classed.
A fighter of GGG's alleged caliber should have been able to make in fight adjustments. How many amateur fights and different styles has he seen? He couldn't even do what he normally does best, cut the ring off.

Jacobs can actually improve on some things in a rematch. GGG, not so much.

                    2. Golovkin usually uses the jab to set up other punches-- you know, Mexican style. Lol. But Golovkin landed the jab because that's all he could get not cuz he was controlling the fight.
                    3. Jacob's completely wiped him rounds 6-11. He ripped him with unanswered power punches. There's no way to score a single of these rounds for golovkin. None. There's also very little reason to score 1-3 all for golovkin other than bias. Golovkin literally only won round 4 and 12 for sure. But to literally say golovkin did what he had to do is laughable.
                    4. Jacob's let his hands go. Golovkin refused to engage all night and reverted back to his amateur style. Golovkin was only willing to let his hands go when he thought Jacob's was hurt in round 4
                    5. I told Doug that mr Mexican style would have trouble with any fighter he couldn't neutralize with the jab. Which has been the key to his success all along. The jab was there but it didn't matter. Doug didn't listen
                    6. Jacob's wasn't scared to go to the body. Golovkin was. Golovkin was completely confused for the majrority of the fight
7 Jacob's face showed more wear cuz he took more risks.
8 this fight was easier to score than ward vs Kovalev.
9 compubox is not always an accurate depiction of the fight. The story of the fight was golovkin could not cut the ring off. Settle for jabs. Didn't set up many bigger shots. Compubox is also an estimate but that's another story.

                    Solid post!

What was "Prime Hopkins" at MW? When he KO'd WW-moving-up Trinidad in the 12th? Because before that, he'd already lost twice, drawn once (at 29, to Segundo Mercado) and won dreary decisions over such non-all-time greats as Anibal Miranda, Randy Smith, and Gilbert Baptist.

Hopkins may or may not have won a fight vs. GGG if both were at their best, but in evaluating the relative merits of each fighter it's important to view them through an equally broad context. GGG--to give him his "props"--just got taken to 12 rounds for the first time in his life, at the age of nearly 35, against a larger, younger, and highly motivated opponent who is the #2 or #3 (depending on whether you rate Canelo as a MW) fighter in his division. The last time GGG won a decision was on June 21, 2008--nearly 9 years ago, in an 8-rounder against Algeria Amar Amari.

All great fighters have off nights for one reason or another. "Prime Tyson" barely beat James "Quick" Tillis and struggled early against Tony Tucker. Mayweather arguably lost his first fight against José Luis Castillo. GGG, on his worst night thus far won a 7-5 decision to defend his MW titles for the 18th time.
