Golovkin ran around for FOUR YEARS talking about 168, calling out Froch/Chavez in the process..... but now just a couple of pounds makes a difference, even at middleweight?

if that is true, then how the hell was Golovkin gonna handle Andre Ward?

making out like Jacobs is a monster, is a blatant admission that Golovkin is not who they said he was

    #jacobs-toobigtoostrong
It was almost certainly not just "a couple of pounds". Jacobs looked like a LHW minimum. His nutritionist readily admitted Jacobs would be 180 ring walk.

And besides all that. GGG still beat him. So size difference or not he got the job done.

I still dont think he beats Ward. Ward is just too large.

      That's is just sad.

Hopkins may or may not have won a fight vs. GGG if both were at their best, but in evaluating the relative merits of each fighter it's important to view them through an equally broad context. GGG--to give him his "props"--just got taken to 12 rounds for the first time in his life, at the age of nearly 35, against a larger, younger, and highly motivated opponent who is the #2 or #3 (depending on whether you rate Canelo as a MW) fighter in his division. The last time GGG won a decision was on June 21, 2008--nearly 9 years ago, in an 8-rounder against Algeria Amar Amari.

All great fighters have off nights for one reason or another. "Prime Tyson" barely beat James "Quick" Tillis and struggled early against Tony Tucker. Mayweather arguably lost his first fight against José Luis Castillo. GGG, on his worst night thus far won a 7-5 decision to defend his MW titles for the 18th time.
Kinda' like GG Ko'ing moving up from WW Kell Brook.

Except Tito is WAY better than Brook.

no, I am absolutely positive that Golovkin can beat fighters who are the same size as Andre Ward

          Ward is just too good

they were being a bit..... silly

so Golovkin is 172, and Jacobs is 180..... so what ?

that is a few pounds..... who cares ?

each division has a weight range, and every fighter is different..... if you can make 160, then you are a middleweight..... and some guys will rehydrate more than others..... again, so what?

that has ALWAYS been the case within boxing, and it was much worse back in the day with the original 8 divisions..... I don't hear anyone making size excuses for any of the greats???

forget Ward..... if a few pounds was too much for Golovkin to overcome, then how ridiculous was all that talk about fighting at 168?

they even mentioned fighting Froch at 172

          come on man

Jacobs is a little better than we thought, and Golovkin is not quite what we thought

NO big deal, and the same for any other fighter

I think you have missed the point

Mr "anyone from 154-168" ran around for FOUR YEARS talking about 168, calling out Froch/Chavez in the process..... but now just a few pounds makes a difference, even when fighting an unheralded middleweight like Jacobs?

            REALLY ?

if that is true, then how the hell was Golovkin gonna handle Andre Ward?

making out like Jacobs is a monster, is a blatant admission that Golovkin is not who they said he was

serious question..... if a few pounds made ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL, then how the hell could Golovkin live with Andre Ward..... who is MUCH bigger/better than Jacobs at EVERYTHING ??

come on man..... this guy was supposed to be able to beat Ward, Kovalev, and Stevenson..... but now Danny Jacobs is too big for him?

you can't be serious, that is fkn lame
But do you hang on Andre Wards Nut Sack as a full time job????? GGG sent Ward and offer which Ward declined. Why didn't Ward take an "easy" fight with GGG. Because he knows GGG can/could take him at 164. Kovo offered a fight and Ward stating he needed a few warm up fights to get back into shape before he faced Kovo. If Ward is such and elite boxer why did he need few warm-ups to face Kovo after he declined a fight with a 'lowly' middle weight like GGG. The clocked was ticking and Ward muffed his opportunity. That ship has sailed pal. Your hate for GGG is so strong that you have to bring Ward into every anti GGG post you put out there. That is pathetic AFB!!!
"Just a few pounds" are you kidding me. DJ came into the bout by at least +180 lbs. If he wasn't, why did he decline the pre fight weigh in???? Because he'd look like an "out of weight class" sham. He knew it and you should have too.
You Sir are the one that is missing the point,.....or better yet, have never gotten the point to begin with.
Why you hate on GGG like you do is a shame.
To be totally honest with you, I don't think Ward is too big nor too talented to beat a man like Daniel Jacobs. I think DJ is fighting in a weight class too low for his full potencial. Hopefully he will quit th MW division move up and make a name for himself on the SMW/LHW classes. Question,...if you think DJ is such an awesome MW, why aren't you lobbying him to move up and fight in the SMW/LHW divisions. He's an elite fighter right????????

              fk off idiot

I am happy to spend time here educating casual fans, but not arguing with idiots

              * even the casuals now admit that Golovkin had NO chance against Ward

              * the g-tards still deny that GGG ducked Ward, TWICE

              * but only the worst fanboy clowns will try to insist that Ward ducked Golovkin

It's too bad you allow your distain and hatred for GGG to down pay the mans talent and this so called "education of the casual fan" is detrimental to the sport itself a well as the newer fans. I hate it for you, but your boy DJ was clearly beat last weekend. I bet you had such high hopes that he would have KO'd GGG. But he didn't !!!

and if you had actually read my posts you would know that I have no problem with that..... Golovkin developed Ward problems because of his big mouth, but Ward would have been a HUGE ask and an unrealistic expectation

I only bring that up because you clowns deny it happened..... the Jacobs fight is debatable, but the avoidance of Ward is not

Are you kidding me??? The first "duck" in this GGG vs Ward saga was on Andre Ward. Don't hand me that Bull-****.
GGG big mouth??? The son of a ***** can barely speak English you dumb schmuck. That is another weak lame assed comment.
And there is no debate in the Jacobs fight. Danny gave a lot of "flashy movement" with shoe shine pitty-pat flurries, but very little substance and effect when it really counted. It's not a matter of pride,..but more like idiots such as yourself that deny the fact that you just have to swallowing YOUR pride and accept the fact that GGG is the goods, he's beat every man you bet against him, and he remains UNDEFEATED. Suck it up buttercup and choke it down like a real man!!!!
GGG is for real and you just need to accept it!!!
BTW,..I really enjoy trading jabs with you. Nothin but love Bro.
