This had the potential of turing into a Pacquiao Marquez rivalry if Golovkin was 5 years younger. Golovkin is getting to the end of his career so thats not likely to happen.

      Good post.

It's definitely getting hard to ignore Golovkins lack of ability to handle fast hands-- especially combinations.

One punch speed is timing. Combination speed is what we call fast hands. And canelo does them both well but generally settles for the one punch. I don't think the one punch will work. With Golovkin jab. He'll need combinations and then there will be the stamina questions.

The Chavez fight should throw light as to how much his punches affect middle weights and how fast he is relative to middle weights. Chavez doesn't have a great jab so it still wouldn't be a good barometric of a G fight. But it will give us an idea if he can carry the middle weight.

Jacobs can actually improve on some things in a rematch. GGG, not so much.
Also, I've seen Canelo mimic mayweather pull counter. He does it pretty well. it would be an excellent way to get Golovkin to second guess the jab. I feel like canelo should of fought Andy Lee as it would have gave him practice neutralizing the jab. But Chavez of course is a more money generating fight.

It applied to GGG. Jacobs wanted to fight for that belt. Implied all along he had every intention of adhering to the same day weigh in. This in itself forced GGG to be up early for the second weigh in and stick to the weight limit when Jacobs knew all along he was going to ignore it and come in at 180. Even his nutritionist has said the same. If you dont think thats underhand I dont know what is.

it was a couple of pounds man..... each division has a range, it is common as hell for 1 guy to be slightly larger than the other guy..... who fkn cares?

your guy is supposed to be a killer, right ?

Golovkin ran around for FOUR YEARS talking about 168, calling out Froch/Chavez in the process..... but now just a couple of pounds makes a difference, even at middleweight?

if that is true, then how the hell was Golovkin gonna handle Andre Ward?

making out like Jacobs is a monster, is a blatant admission that Golovkin is not who they said he was

About***intime, We both know we don't see eye to eye on most things, and there are times when I actually agree with what you say. But this last post of yours was just plain lame. GGG is by rule forced to adhere to any and all rules by the IBF,..regardless if fighting for the ibf or any other sanctioning body. Either he obeys their rules or he loses the ibf belt. He cannot unify the division if he doesn't own that strap. Therefore he is forced to comply.
Slightly larger?? there was a lot more than just a couple lbs difference between DJ and GGG when the opening bell rang. Sorry that is a weak comment. JG could have gone against Ward that night and beaten your boy ward. Of course ward probably would have tried to hug the man to death.
Admit it brother, GGG dictated to fight and Daniel Jacobs could do nothing more than go on the defensive and switch to south paw to lessen the potencial damage. The last four rounds belonged without question to GGG and had it gone on three more rounds (old school 15 round fights) Jacobs wouldn't have made it the distance. GGG was bearing down hard and punishing Jacobs in the last two rounds. He was head hunting and going for a quick ko the whole time. If he wanted to destroy DJ, he would have gone to the body more,...if you don't believe me, watch the replay and count the times GGG had the opportunity to go o the body but didn't. Jacobs answered some but it didn't slow GGG down. Watch the Replay (a few times if you really need to) and read the body language of both men. GGG was unscathed while Jacobs was gassed out.
PS. Harold Letterman is full of ****. Neither man won the first two rounds. It was clearly a draw in those rounds and a feeling out period for them. Again,..watch the replay!!!!! Listen to the post fight interview,..He respected DJ and didn't want to destroy him,....GGG held back on purpose. DJ was in serious denial and in a way disrespected GGG with his excuses. One more time,...watch the GD replay. How hard is that to see. Why so many people hate the ma is beyond me. He is humble, a true sportsman, and is earnest in his endeavors to be a true world champion. What is not to like???? A rematch with GGG would be certain defeat for Daniel Jacobs. I doubt GGG would be as kind the second time around.

Sorry Pal, that trick didn't work and GGG played the ***** course DJ laid out to play. GGG dictated the fight for the most part and DJ didn't do diddly squat. You Haters are so salty and sour. When these two men fight again, GGG won't show much respect nor be very kind in his assault. Especially after he hears DJ's post fight review in his native tongue. I'm sure the 'conspiracy theorist "/haters will run with that one. Jacobs did every thing he could do to gain the upper hand with so call 'advantages' and still he was defeated. Accept it Hater!!! Watch the ******** replay of the fight. You'll get it sooner or later.

rubbish, it was just a few pounds

NO big deal, and the same for any other fighter

I think you have missed the point

Mr "anyone from 154-168" ran around for FOUR YEARS talking about 168, calling out Froch/Chavez in the process..... but now just a few pounds makes a difference, even when fighting an unheralded middleweight like Jacobs?

                      REALLY ?

if that is true, then how the hell was Golovkin gonna handle Andre Ward?

making out like Jacobs is a monster, is a blatant admission that Golovkin is not who they said he was

serious question..... if a few pounds made ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL, then how the hell could Golovkin live with Andre Ward..... who is MUCH bigger/better than Jacobs at EVERYTHING ??

come on man..... this guy was supposed to be able to beat Ward, Kovalev, and Stevenson..... but now Danny Jacobs is too big for him?

you can't be serious, that is fkn lame
