No it's a fact; That on October 22, 2016, AT&T had announced its intent to acquire Time Warner for $108.7 billion. Here's the proof: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_W...tion_by_AT.26TComment

The media/entertainment landscape is changing. HBO is actually ahead of the curve because they are using a monthly subscription based model like netflix, spotify etc, while PBC is using advertising revenue from which they have to buy air time on major networks.
The return on investment is greater on shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld than it is on boxing so as a business, its common sense that there gonna go where the money is. And filming a Game of Thrones episode isn't cheap, each episode in season 6 cost $10 million. That's $100 million for 1 season. And theres 2 seasons left and the actors and special effects are going up.
As long as HBO's subscribers keep climbing that there will always be HBO boxingComment

I wouldn't be surprise if the new owners of AOL/Time Warner sell its shares of HBO boxing to the PBC or Showtime. The reason why HBO is cutting its boxing budget because they are not making enough money in order to justify broadcasting these fights. No it's a fact; That on October 22, 2016, AT&T had announced its intent to acquire Time Warner for $108.7 billion. 1979. holmes vs weaver. the major networks didnt want to buy a tune up.
HBO came in out of nowhere and practically stole the fight for 150k.
it was HBO's most watched program ever and HBO immediately started buying every fight they could.Comment

It's not that hbo CANT compete, it's that it doesn't want to be in the boxing business anymore, unless you are canelo, ggg, manny, or someone that can sell ppv and draw eyeballs.. hbo is done paying 2 mil for a berto fight and getting no return..Comment

Loma is a "star" in today's terms... but dude can't hold a candle to the ratings and ppv that morales, Barrera, prince, manny were bringing a decade+ ago.. and those were b-side hbo stars and couldn't touch what Roy, Oscar, Tito, Shane, Vargas, Lennox, Holyfield were bringing to hbo..Lomachenkos ratings triple rigos fym hbo has been promoting him heavy and hes a two division champion in just 3 years of being pro who else has done that? NO ONE
, Valdez is headlining a ppv? From hbo?? From showtime?? he's not stop reaching, you don't like non American fighters doesn't mean they're not stars
who's a star to you? I can ask 5 casuals on any street and they will all name hbo fighters other than Floyd, not saying showtime doesn't have any but you're fooling yourself if you think hbo isn't loaded with talent and stars.
Literally in a decade, hbo went from having a dozen ppv caliber fighters that could all draw 300k buys, to only canelo being able to capture those numbers..

You forget loma has 9 fights.. in those 9 fights he holds record ratings than anyone before, especially on The undercard of Floyd PAC, and you also forget the whole Russia and Ukraine tunes in on their own networks.Loma is a "star" in today's terms... but dude can't hold a candle to the ratings and ppv that morales, Barrera, prince, manny were bringing a decade+ ago.. and those were b-side hbo stars and couldn't touch what Roy, Oscar, Tito, Shane, Vargas, Lennox, Holyfield were bringing to hbo..

Loma holds no record ratings for hbo...
Winky wright drew more viewers than loma, by a wide margin..
Russia and Ukraine have no money, I don't care how many tune in...Comment
