And how much is 45% of 100 million dollars?

I don't know how much to believe about the numbers that are being touted. Really don't know what's true and what isn't. Certainly can't understand why GBP would offer a $15m guarantee to an opponent. They've never done anything like that with anyone else. If they did do it, I'm not clear on why Loeffler and co wouldn't accept it.

I'm inclined to think that most of what we're hearing is bull****. I think a flat fee offer has historically been a sign that one side didn't want the fight, and I'm certainly unconvinced that this is a fight GBP want.

I will wait until after Golovkin-Jacobs to draw any conclusions. I don't think anything we hear in the meantime can be taken too seriously.

I understand the guarantee would likely be less than 15 mil but again, why not offer any ppv upside from the beginning when it's been the norm for other fighters to get a cut? Them stating from the start that ggg won't get any ppv upside makes it seem like they're not really trying to make the fight but rather trying to save face with their fans while continuing to take lesser fights in between. They never proposed an offer to make ggg Canelo's next fight. It's always been negotiations for a fight a year plus in advance. So all of this ppv upside vs flat fee and 155 catch weight vs 160 has all been a ploy by golden boy to drag out a fight that they'd rather not make for fear of how it may impact their cash cow. Just my opinion but I think everything golden boy has done in regards to this potential fight since Canelo beat cotto has been an attempt to avoid ggg for as long as possible while still trying to maintain credibility with his fan base.

Ummm... $45m. What %split do you think he'd get? It sure as hell won't be more than 30%, which is $13.5m. And that's with it doing ~1.7m buys.

Explain how $15m is a bad deal again...

Because Saul Alvarez runs his own business. Why would he ever offer up a share of his entire event when the Mexico TV runs through Canelo Promotions, the Tecate sponsorship runs through Canelo Promotions, and Canelo Promotions is already entitled to 80% of the net proceeds of the money that Golden Boy Promotions generates for Saul Alvarez's fights?

Golovkin's not worth $15m, but Alvarez is offering it to 1)make the fight and 2)keep K2/Golovkin out of his business.

Manny Pacquiao had been earning $20m-$25m for his fights under Top Rank; in 2012, Floyd offer Pacquiao double his usual purse [$40m] to try and make the fight and cut Top Rank out of the deal (There's no doubt in my mind that Mayweather wouldn't have known how to properly market the Asia rights to the fight, so those could've been offered to Top Rank/Pacquiao in the closing of the deal).

Alvarez isn't a fighter simply showing up for a check; Richard Schaefer and Floyd/Cotto have hipped him to the value of the back-end money.

If GGG was confident of winning he would accept just on the basis of beating a Mexican superstar. Canelo has been fair.

It won't make 100 million the Cable providers and HBO take half the PPV money.

This fight could generate over a 100 million in revenues..... so 10-15 million is a little weak.
My suggestion : keep the offer and beef it up with 25% of the revenues. That will boost GGG's pay to 30-35 million... which seems fair in comparison to Canelo's 65-70..

This is rediculous. Manny and Floyd barely made 30 mil per fight. This fight isn't doing no 2 mil buys. 10-15 is a strong number. Canelo didn't even make that much vs cotto

No way is gg gonna get 10x his biggest pay day for this fight
