I think Mayweather Promotions made the right decision. I'm not really seeing superstar in him like everyone is. I believe he should have went after Conlan. I'm sure Mayweather Promotions will respond which is what Shakur been wanting. He's been throwing little shots I'm surprised Floyd ain't responded yet.
This kid is being hyped up by J-Prince/Ward behind the scenes. That's what all of this is about. Prince is the reason Floyd and Ward always throwing shots at each other. They have a long history. Once he signed with Prince (as manager) I started to wonder what was going on with his team/family.

First it would have been better to hear it from Shakur himself. I don't like the fact that it came from Ring Magazine based on biased stuff that has been written about Haymon, Mayweather, and PBC.

But if this is true it's sad. Competition is part of all sports. Just because Floyd is Floyd doesn't mean that all prospects will sign to his company that he wants.

I think once Shakur signed with Ward and Prince that completely changed Floyd's plans.

it's very simple. shakur signed with james prince instead of al haymon, so mayweather didn't want to deal with him.

shakur will be stuck fighting house fighters for WBO titles and the house is limited, so long term shakur's potential will be hampered. the only reason to go the HBO route is to try to become a PPV star, but with PPV dying, i don't think it's realistic for shakur to ever achieve that.

And just like that, the army of Mayweather loyalists have stopped being fans of the kid.

I think you're misinterpreting the concerns around his team. Signing with Top Rank was an understandable (borderline great idea). But what a lot of us who are familiar with hip-hop, and particularly the history between Mayweather/Haymon and Prince, have some concerns about the relationship there.

I think we all rooting for Skakur, but having Prince involved complicates his career more than the general fan would realize.

If you were going to sign with Arum, why would you need J-Prince at all? Arum can do all for him and more. It's clear his options became limited once he signed with Prince/Ward and Arum felt comfortable dealing with the bull**** that he knows will eventually come.

                Agree with this.

All the kid had to say was Top Rank was the better move for his career and keep it moving. It's a justifiable decision on its own. Let the Mayweather shots leak out through back channels and 'sources'.

Hope he doesn't allow himself to be used as Top Rank/HBO's latest weapon against Haymon/Mayweather. Because even though we know those en****** hate Mayweather, a lot of Shakur's fanbase will be built off that same 'demographic'.

And it won't play well if it looks like they put a battery in that kid's back.

Yep I wrote a thread about the kid running his mouth to much and taking shots at Mayweather but people said I was imagining things
