i guess now would be the time to point out that we have yet to hear james toney's big fat mouth even mention the possibility of this fight. he was all about talking **** about wlad before his pathetic performance against rahman.

i hope the fight doesent happen just cause all that haters will immediately discount the victory just like the one over byrd.

hell if jesus christ came down from heaven and wlad knocked him out with a straight right im sure people would be on here saying "well jesus was only a carpenter, he should fight sam peter again if he isnt such a *****"

            It's a race thing.

White guys aren't supposed to kick Black guy's asses in boxing.

Except that old myth has been thrown out the window tenfold. Like Sactown1's threads about how "Brewster doesn't lose to white guys".

Then he had his ass completely handed to him by Liakahovic.

rahman used to have a pretty good punch but is not a big puncher at this stage in his career. when was the last time he even dropped an opponent? its been years.

i think i posted already in this thread about rahmans "alleged" power in his right. he hasnt committed to throwing a serious right hand since lennox lewis knocked him ******. i was watching him fight frankie swindell on ESPN classic and he was afraid to throw a right hand, and this is against a journeyman fighter. he never came close to committing to any real power in the toney fight either, true it wasnt necessary to win the fight, but the point is that it wasnt a strategy, thats just how he fights now.

rahman vs wlad is just as bad a mismatch as toney vs. wlad

rahmans strengths are his jab and powerful right. wlads jab makes rahmans look like little league, and wlads right hand is considerably better also whether or not people want to admit it

rahman wouldnt last 6 rounds with wlad.

toney could at least do that even though he will lose every round,

i think this is one of the best heavyweight fights right now, if this fight happens and klitschko wins people will recognize him as the champ...

I disagree with that, Rahmans got a real strong left jab. Rahman's only chance against Wlad would include trying to jab with him. It would be difficult, but you cant just come forward to Wlad without throwing anything.

This is not a good fight for Toney to take. Wlad Klitschko is not some lumbering caveman who just wings shots from left field and will miss a lot. He is a well schooled fighter who is extremely accurate and fast, as well as being way way bigger and stronger than Toney.

Toney would take a severe beating, and the sight of Klitschko beating the hell out of another severely undersized former middleweight directly after his fight with Byrd would not be good for Klitschko either or for the heavyweight division for that matter.
