This is the biggest mistake of James Toney's entire career. Wladimir's style is simply made to become the first to stop Toney. MARK MY WORDS!!!! This will be the Klitschko-Byrd III, no ifs ands or buts. Toney cannot contend with this guys style, its the wrong fight for him and he will get stopped by Wladimir. I'm praying this fight does not come off because I am one of Toney's biggest fans. I care too much for Toney to let the sport abuse him now.

I agree. its a stylistic nightmare for toney. toney has very little pop at heavyweight and is a stationary target that relies on parrying punches which works great with most guys,,,but wlad throws straight punches through the guard and they will get through on toney and he'll be punching straight down on toney as well. if toney is smart he tries to get the rematch with hasim instead who he has a better chance of beating if he gets his weight down

Not such an easy fight as people think. Toney has a hard rock chin, if he gets up on Klit and slugs inside like he did Rahman, Klit loses.

Tony doesn't have the stamina to maintain the sort of inside attack he would have to against Wlad to have a chance. He has a good chin, but it's never been tested against a puncher like Wlad, who will but only land a big shot sporatically, but will land them often. Wlad destroys Toney, unless he falls over from exhaustion. There's always that hope for Toney I guess.

Guys like Ruiz, Holyfeild & Guin, they all had good power, they have hurt many big heavyweights before. They never hurt Toney once, even if Wlad lands a perfect punch, Toney will take it. Toney has one of the best chins of all time. He's never been hurt in his life, I guess you don't know anything about Toney. I see Wlad being stopped by Toney late in the fight. Wlad chin is very questionable. Toney is not a big puncher in the HW, but if he lands like 400 clean punches on Wlad, then I see Wlad losing by TKO.

I voted for Toney, but that was before the Rahman fight and before the Byrd fight. My mindset has changed completley. That was based on Wlad against peter (and his past 4 preformances) and Toney against Ruiz, Booker and Guinn.

Peter vs Wlad had no effect on the outcome of this fight. The outcome would be the same any time. He has the style and physical tools necessary to beat Toney.

Toney will never take this fight, not unless they offer him crazy money. He knows he will lose, and he's already in line to fight the winner of Rahman/Maskaev, who he has a much greater chance of beating for a title, which would lead to another payday defending it once.

I just don't see Toney taking this fight. I'll be very, very surprised if he does.

You seem to be the most optimistic Wlad fan on this site Ill give you that, but that guy hung in there with Brewster. I doubt he gets KO'd that early if at all, but then again I never actually saw him fight. That said, and as I've said this next thing many times as well as many others have said, this fight is all wrong for Toney. Style AND size mismatch.
