There is a word in russian language which uses to pretty much describe any caucasian(that includes american caucasian too). The word is europoid.
So technically he is european and in no way he is russian.
Only an ignorant person would call ukrainian a russian.
You dont really call philipinian people chinese, right? Both nations are asian. You dont call irish person an englishman, even though Britain "owned" Ireland for a long while.
So the racial similarity that ukraininas and russians have is that they are both slavs, and there are many people in both nations that hate each others guts.
