It sounds like you don't think he can beat GGG, so you only want him to take easy fights he can win like Saunders, and you're even willing to make up fake excuses for why Charlo shouldn't fight GGG, like how Charlo could fight Lara or Cotto at 160, even though Lara shares Charlo's trainer and fights at 154, and even though Cotto now fights at 154 too and will never fight a bigger, faster, younger guy like Charlo with no fan base. Only GGG is willing to do that, apparently, and a few other rare fighters these days.

If you were an objective boxing fan, you would want to see GGG-Charlo, because that's the better fight, and objective boxing fans just want to see the best fights. But since you're a Charlo fan first, before you're a boxing fan, your top priority is preventing Charlo from losing, so you would rather see boring fights that Charlo will win, than exciting fights you think he would lose, such as the GGG-Charlo fight.

I'm just a boxing fan though, so I don't care if Charlo loses, I just want to see the best fights. None of us know if he would win or lose until they fight, so you'd think Charlo would have the self-belief to take the fight March 18 so everyone can find out.
    Um...haha. Hold up there, sparky.

You're preaching to the choir. I DO want to see Charlo fight GGG. I was pointing out his other options at 160 as well. I liked your post and hear you loud and clear. Calm down. GGG-Charlo is the fight to see. As a fan of both, I totally agree.

People are critical of this often by comparing it to WWE or acting, but the reality is fans of sports tend to like to see beef & you don't necessarily gotta be fake so much as turn your personality up to 11. And from most of what I can gather is the Charlo's got a above average ability at being ****holes so they don't need to be fake so much as flick the dial on their personality to 11.

True, but beef is only good when it's genuine. I like bad guys too (Kov, Mayorga,Tyson, Margarito, etc) but only when it's the fighter's real personality. Charlo seemed a bit remorseful and even apologized to J-Rock back stage. Not many can stand the heat of being a real villain, no need to force people into the role.

No it's not the same because GGG is the A-side, not Charlo, and because Andre Ward was a "scaled down light heavyweight" even at 168, according to his own trainer (exact quote), while Charlo is an actual middleweight. Charlo and GGG are the same size, so they can fight at their natural weigh class, 160. GGG and Ward are 30 pounds apart in normal weight, so they need to meet in between.

To top it off, that was a negotiating posture by GGG. Both GGG and Ward didn't see the money there for that fight two years ago, which is why Ward asked for so many tuneups, but both would have done it at 168 once the money was there. Charlo on the other hand has no bigger fights out there and GGG is already getting old.

If they are the same size Golovkin can fight at 154 and actually back up the claims he promoted himself with "anyone from 154-168", Golovkin also refused to go below 160 for A-side Canelo. Why should everyone concede to Golovkin?

I think Charlo "playing the villian" is being over exaggerated. He was pissed that a dude talked alot of sh-t to him so he didn't shake his hand. The crowd, mostly Mexican, then booed this. Ok, I get that.

Charlo explains himself and apologizes, which he doesn't do if he is "playing the villian".

You know damn well Canelo and Cotto aren't fighting Charlo.

                  Keep up.
