Better boxers with more diverse skillsets do better in rematches. And the fact that he won almost all of his rds in a row starting from rd 5 on lets me know that he figured something out with Kovalev. Kovalev will probably be more emotional in the rematch and fight angry like he has something to prove and that will let Ward get inside more often. I see Ward staying active in the Gym going into the rematch and dominating oncce more. The quicker the rematch the better as well for Ward, because Kovalev will have less time to get in shape. He is not a 12rd fighter.

But for all my **** talk i have to acknowledge that Kovalev is really the goods. The hand speed was nice on the counters and the straight punches were crisp. Loved to see him and Beiterbiev because its like a stiff stronger machine in Artur vs a more fluid boxer in Kovalev. He's never really had to avoid power in the last few years so that would be a hell of a match

I think he did by fighting inside and winning more of the later rounds. It's not about neutralizing everything the other guy is doing, just some things and getting on the scoreboard as the result. It doesn't guarantee him a win in the rematch, but it can give him a path, one that he may have already found.

Kovalev needs to keep Ward in front of him as that is where he had his success...the rematch will be great
Kovalev faded a bit after the 6th as Ward adjusted then

kovalev ADJUSTED and won the 10th round.

these two elite fighters can both adjust and will.

they are both so good it will always be a close fight unless Kov gets him out of there, which we know is possible.

I thought he already knew what Kovalev was going to bring yet he got clipped with the jab in the first round and got knocked down in the second...Referee saved him from the knockout and judges gave him the titles. Next time, Ward's face will be even more battered and he is fully aware of that. ..Just tell your trainer to stop this racist bull****..

The secod fight would be "worse"? Incredibly arrogant thing to say when you arguably lost the fight and took more punishment.
