I saw the tape when Duran quit against Sugar
Ray too. Now seeing Tommy Herns knock him out
with one punch. Why do people keep saying Duran
is so great especially old people.

btw....sugar shane has been fighting for 11 years and has only 44 fights with 4 losses. he held the lightweight title for two years, and held the welterweight title for a year and a half, the middle weight title for 6 months. 3 titles for a total of 4 years
how the hell is pazienza considered a great??

He was 71-1 by the time he got to Leonard. That was 12 years into his career, and probably when he started going over the hill. He's a legend and don't you think otherwise.

Luke Ski Duran is a legend true, great true...but tell the Truth. He was only 29 years old when he moved up to face Leonard. He did not have any type of amateur career, thus he was not subject to the wear and tear as a dlh, leonard, mayweather did from the amateur days..

Now since he did not have many if any amateur fights, one would say that is further evidence of his greatness, and will on one hand agree with that, but you have to fair and balanced,,Most of his fights at lightweight were vs very very very weak opposition, many with losing records even after he became champion. Go to BoxRec and see for yourself.

So while duran is great, the facts ...no opinions, the facts speak for themselvs. Duran moved up as did chavez, paquio, leonard, mayweather, dlh, mosley, jones, robinson etc...in fact mayweather has moved up around the same age as Duran did when he moved up. Duran has gotten repeated butt whippings north of lightweight, but he also does own the victory vs leonard. So when judging Duran his career sends mixed signals if your discussing all time great status. He has earned it and will go down as one of the best ever, but again many on here get upset when you simply point out that they are grading duran on a different criteria section than all other fighters..We chastice Jones for his quality of oppostion, compare his quality wins to Durans, What if mayweather got ko'd dlh...hmm did duran get ko'd at 154 weight limit by Hearns...around the same age as Mayweather...What if Leonard had quit vs Hagler (even after retirment) would we let him off the hook.

So again the facts paing a completely different picture than mos duran followers, if ,,this is key if you judge all other fighters by the same guidlines.
