There is a reason Ward isn't interested in refuting these aligations, because he knows he's a damn liar. Every time he's called on it he plays coy, as if he is the good guy above all this.

Ward knew from day 1 that offer was going to be turned down, GGG was literally facing possibility of three unification fights. Lemiuex, Lee (if he would have beaten Suanders), and Canelo/Cotto winner. Ward wanted late 2016, k2 said maybe early 2017. Canelo has attempted to drag this MW fight out to age GGG. So it wouldn't have happened in early 2017, but at time that was an unknown.

Ward wasn't then, and has never been serious about fighting GGG.

I toot the Golovkin horn any chance I get, and GGG has the potential to beat anyone at his weight. He however has no chance at beating Ward. Wards speed and timing paired with his ring I. Q. and fight to win style are 1000% wrong for Golovkin. Mind you, as great as he is, GGG is not guaranteed to beat everyone around his weight even though he is heavily favored in most of the fights. Against Ward though he is the underdog no doubt and I don't see him getting stopped but I don't see him winning in any way shape or form.

He's fighting a guy who is not that heard of or known this is why Ward will always be asked about the most known and feared fighter about even if Ward for some miraculous reason wins against Kovalev the public won't give him much props for it because he's meant to win he's the favourite this is his natural weight limit there is absolutely no adversity to be dealt with like there never ever has been in Wards career.

GGG tried to make a fight with Froch in 2014, not in the summer of this year, 2016, which is when Ward wanted to fight him.

And that's all I want to say about GGG and Ward. I'm not going to be like of those sad Floyd/Manny fanboys, who are still bickering, even now, about who was to blame for those guys not fighting each other back in 2009!

Like Andre just said, he and GGG are 2 divisions apart and on different paths now. The GGG/Ward saga is over ... it's dead ... let's forget about it and move on.
