That was 2 months ago and things have changed. The WBA upheld the 75/25 split. Jacobs may even have to fight his mando.

It is not normal for a champion to become mandatory for another alphabet organizations belt. If that was the case why were Mayweather and Pacquiao never each other's mandatories? Golovkin became the WBC mando because he fought and beat Rubio, who was the WBC interim champ. Those are the WBC rules. They didn't make them up specially for GGG.

To say that fighting Andre Ward, in a years time, for 50% of an unknown and unspecified purse, was the best financial option open to GGG last year is just nuts.

Golovkin had been guaranteed a shot at the winner of Canelo vs Cotto next, if he beat Lemieux. He had also been promised a MW unification fight with Andy Lee after that, if Lee got past Saunders, which he was favourite to do.

They were all much better options, in terms of both risk and reward, than signing a contract with Ward for a fight a year down the line, at 168, which we now know would never have even have happened, because Ward can't make 168 any more.

A guy being ducked like a plague is not a hype job. The authenticity is real. Hype jobs are not ducked. Danny Garcia is a shining example. Everyone wants a piece of him. He has no problem choosing his fights. Come on people. This is not rocket science.

1) thin resume vs top fighters in his division....check

2) talented but clear flaws.....check

3)fanatical fans who consider him an all time great or p4p top 5 without wins over anyone elite in his division, or period....check

I think he should get 30%, maybe 35% tops. But if they can't agree on something, the rules are written long ago. 75-25, purse bid. And if he vacates, he's a coward. He can't ask for the rules to be made specially for him.
