    nice try though
And none of those guys accepted fixed purse offers for a fight a year down the line in which they would very likely be the only reigning, defending, undisputed 4 belt world champion in the sport of boxing.

    Nice try though.

As you say, it's the money from sanctioning fees they are interested in, and they could bank on GGG getting rid of Rubio for them, but he was also hot favourite to get rid of Canelo too, and Canelo is the real cash cow of the division.
I think that they know that Golovkin is being pushed by the media and is becoming a larger draw each time he fights. So if he were to beat Canelo it could make him a huge star. On the other hand, if Canelo were to win they can simply say that they aren't biased and demand the best challenges from all of their champions regardless of nationality. These people aren't ******, they realized from the moment that Cotto won the belt that they were sitting on a gold mine and rules be damed they weren't going to let Rubio or anybody else slow down that payday momentum. It took a long time for May-Pac to happen, but they were still able to eat off of Mayweather's gargantuan paydays. With Mayweather out of the picture they've set their eyes on greener pastures.

meanwhile Golovkin just sits at 160 at the age of 38. Arched back, slower than before... When Bhop had moved to LHW he was still fast compared to what he is today. Big Bear is just draining the age out of Golovkin. Alvarez will atleast be a 3 weight class champ, maybe 4. People will forget about Golovkin

I don't think that Canelo will have the height, reach or power to compete in a division above 160. He is only 5"7 and has short arms compare that to Ramirez who is 6"3, it wouldn't even be fair.

Pacquiao has the longest arms. Went from Singsurrat to Margarito, Algieri, ODH.. those guys were all midgets too

Pacquiao also had tremendous speed both foot and hand. Even with head movement Canelo would be a sitting duck for a lot of those guys.
