Oh wait, Jacobs said Golovkin was the best of his generation. I'm confused.
If they were only offering Danny the same amount he would get without negotiating, then what would be the point of even trying to negotiate with him in the first place?

However that had nothing to do with my post.
This fight is bigger than the Lemieux fight. That is an irrefutable fact. However you conveniently deleted the rest of my 3 paragraph response from the quote because you would look ******ed saying what you did if you had not omitted it.

But you didn't tell me how you feel about Jacobs passing on that, and whether he's worth more

His regular title is irrelevant in this fight, as GGG's super title is the only WBA belt being contested. He doesn't have a big fan base and is virtually unkown outside of Brooklyn. And he couldn't even fill an arena there against Quillin, another Brooklyn home town fighter.
Another thing to consider ... Loeffler called for a purse bid because - he said - the negotiations were going nowhere. It seems clear to me that he must have offered Danny more than 25%, his mandated split. Otherwise, what would have been the point of even trying to negotiate in the first place?
