It's always up to everyone else to make concessions. Never your hero.
If Golovkin is a hype job

could make the same argument for the bs flat offer from canelo to ggg. all that other stuff is for the birds either team ggg wants the fight and will offer him something like 30-40 or the fight probably wont happen its that simple and be another lost fight for ggg against a name opponentThen why doesn't Jacobs take the 25-75 split (or whatever was offered to him), beat him easily, become lineal/unified world champion (no one believes Canelo is the real MW champion) and then calls the shots for fights against:
BJS, Canelo, Golovkin rematch, Eubank Jr, Lee, etc, for much more money.
Oh wait, Jacobs said Golovkin was the best of his generation. I'm confused.Comment

so is 75/25 an exclusive rule for the Super and Regular stake? Or is 75/25 purse bid rules in the WBA standard if it were the Super vs let's say #2, non mandatory?Comment

He never negotiated with Margo..Manny declined drug testing and Winky fight never got to that stagewinky wright for one. agreed on the money then floyd came back and asked for more so that's one person.
there are others of course but you are going to play semantics. margarito turned down many times, pac 40 million laughable offer you will say he fought him 5 years later even though it was for 200 and you will fail to see how the 40 million was a way of ducking the fight of course.Comment

Berto, Maidana, Guerrero, Algieri, Rios, Angula, Lara, and Smith, among others, took fights on PPV with no upside share on the event.

I agree with your reasoning here, but I wouldn't sum it up as the WBC catering to Golovkin. Using him would be more like it. And there is one aspect of this that puzzles me. As you say, it's the money from sanctioning fees they are interested in, and they could bank on GGG getting rid of Rubio for them, but he was also hot favourite to get rid of Canelo too, and Canelo is the real cash cow of the division. It doesn't take Einstein to see that they saw the potential fees that they could collect off a Golovkin/Canelo fight vs a Canelo/Rubio. They are motivated by money like all of the other alphabet organizations. It's funny because they once took Martinez's belt two years and gave it to Chavez jr. Now they're catering to Golovkin.Last edited by kafkod; 10-18-2016, 04:36 PM.Comment
