Hagler is brought up because he was a middleweight who faced a string of decent but not great middleweights and who's best wins are a welterweight and a lightweight.

Jumping up from middle to light heavyweight was the norm for many mw champions before hagler. You could relate that to a modern day jump of 160 to 168 like many people propose GGG do.

So it's literally the same scenario.

Oh and in terms of super middle, it didn't magically appear with leonard. It's been an active division in boxing since the 60s and had several champions but it didn't become universally recognised since the early 80s. By the time both the IBF and the WBA had world titles and a long reigning lineal champion too.

Hagler could have moved up to 168 if lhw was too big a jump for.him.

A better question is how come the same ones demanding ggg move up are the same guys who praise rigondeuax and say 126 pounds is too big a jump for the 122 pound boxer who is inactive and fights journey man, yet brag how he beat guys bigger than him in the ring, they still say he is p4p top three why do he get a pass lol

Which is what most people on here seem to want GGG to do and fight the winner of Ward vs Kovalev straight off the bat no less.

Only because he did the same to someone two divisions smaller.

Ur question will be ducked by those GGG hater. Im not even a fan of him but the hate is unreal.

As for OP, well he is being brought up because, well, he didnt moved up and fought smaller guys too.

Is it that hard to understand?

What is funny is Larry made a thread not so long ago asking for GGG to go straight to 175 to fight the winner of Ward-Kov. No double standard huh?
At the sametime I agree that he needs to do something cause guys at 160 are ducking him.

Yeah Larry made a thread abt it too. Asking GGG to move up from 160 to 175 to fight the no.1 P4P guy as soon as the fight is done...

                What a joke lol

People like to conviently leave that part out when making an argument
The RJJ fight was for 168lbs.

Hopkins turned down a 2-fight deal with Showtime to fight Harry Simon then Joe Calzaghe, after his Carl Daniels fight. He stayed with HBO and fought Morrade Hakar.

Saw a picture of that gutneckth or w/e his name is(who's fighting Groves) next to Ggg and thought he waS a cruiserweight, and Groves is bigger than him. Unless you're a juicer or draining, honestly, 154 lb'ers and 160lb'ers are about the same size, 168lb'ers are like 175lb'ers squeezing down.

And though i've said this before, Golovkin doesn't have the speed, style or height to make up for climbing weight. He will just pile on disadvantages with nothing but power and his own intelligence to carry him. That said I rather see him fight Zurdo, degale and jack than nobodies at middleweight. Still think he stops them with his skills and power alone while being at a disadvantage in everything else.

Negotiations failed and hopkins went on to lose to taylor before going to 175 for tarver.

Just some facts and history of the last great middleweight champion trying to do what you laugh at golovkin attempting.

Nobody is asking gennady to do anything that hasn't been tried before, so cut the ****
Relax my man! I know u hate GGG that much and u get excited when the truth is said but breath man.I dont care abt GGG. His resume s*cks and I want him to do something since guys at 160 are running.
