so what if jacobs teams wins? will gg fight on showtime?
^^^this is the only question that matters.
If faced with the scenario of going to the Barclays Center, and having Showtime carry the marketing and fight of the sternest test that Golovkin has ever faced, on paper, as a pro, I'm fairly certain that HBO will make a stink of it (an even bigger stink than the Kovalev-Stevenson talks because, at least in that case, they weren't being completely cut out of the fight).
Al Haymon fighters are constantly trying to break the rules. If it goes to purse bid, the split is 75% - 25%. It's always been that way. Jacobs ratings were horrible even when he had a great opponent in his hometown. He is lucky to even get 25%.
The different ways these fighters find to duck GGG are incredible. It was obvious Jacobs was scared before, but I held out hope after the Brook fight that he wasn't scared anymore. It's obvious he's still scared. These Haymon fighters are a joke. Even the seeming good ones like Jacobs who have fought through so much end up letting you down in the end. Maybe it's time fans apply the logic towards Canelo to all Haymon fighters, and just start boycotting all of them. I hate to do guilt by association so maybe there can be a few exceptions for the few exceptions in his stable like Thurman, but otherwise it's hard to really support any of these guys when all of them seem to have been brainwashed by Haymon and Floyd to follow the same sport-destroying strategy of ducking, ducking, and ducking some more.
JACOBS STOP DUCKING GGG!
as usual, this fanboy clown decided to throw in his 2c worth
the problem is..... his 2c worth, is way overpriced
There's no way on Earth that Daniel Jacobs vacates his belt, especially without having a deal/hints of a deal to fight WBO champ Billy Joe Saunders in hand.
You pull the belt, and what do you have with Jacobs? A really good middleweight fighter, arguably the #2 middleweight on the planet, with no added trinkets to help raise his profile. Add that Jacobs is basically hitting the prime of his career, and what does he gain from not taking the fight.
Still, after all of that talk, it'd be interesting to find out what K2's final offer ended up being.
#NewEra, champions are dropping their belts, what does Jacobs gain? let's see he might gain prolonging his career more or even maybe saving his career, because brutal beatings change your career and shorten it, this is a huge risk for Jacobs, he's got a family to feed, he's a cancer survivor, he knows how tough life is, and could simply fight 20 Mora's for the next years and providing his family for a lot of time with some good money.
That's what he gains.
PD i want to see the fight, but to be honest I gotta be behind Danny on this one, if the risk is gonna be huge, you gotta pay me VERY WELL.
Jacobs only fights on pbc! Im sure the racist fan boys will give jacobs a pass like they gave kkkovalev a pass when he ducked the purse bid..... My bad he had white skin so jacobs wont get a pass!
no way would those f@ggots enter into mutually beneficial negotiations
if the WBA refuse to budge, then dump that shht title and move on
lil'G will not be " awarded " anything, because he is already the WBA champ
that would leave Team Bull**** with no opponent and no shine LMAO
What is wrong with you dude? Jacobs has been offered double his career high to fight GGG. If he doesn't agree, then he's just ducking. Has nothing to do with mutually beneficial negotiations. Is fighting in Jacobs hometown not beneficial? Is making twice his career high despite awful ratings not beneficial? Is getting a chance to fight for three belts at once, this time REAL belts, not beneficial?
You just hate GGG and you're SCARED of seeing another one of your heroes knocked out by him. Unlike real boxing fans who want to see this fight, and real champs like GGG who want to make the fight, you are just like the fake champ Jacobs who doesn't want to make the fight, in that you as his fan don't want to SEE the fight either because you're scared GGG would win.
You know deep down GGG is the best fighter of his era, as Danny Jacobs himself said, so you know no one will beat him in his prime. That's why all you have to root for in your pathetic hatred is that your favorite fighters duck him. That way you can try to fall back on "well he still didn't beat Jacobs!" even though Jacobs ducking him is the same thing. Your hatred and your agenda is obvious, but has it stopped GGG becoming the #1 p4p fighter in the sport? Has it stopped him getting the Jordan deal? Has it stopped him becoming the biggest global star in the sport?
You know the answer. Stop being such a pathetic hater, and start actually supporting boxing. Boxing benefits from great fights, between great fighters. I know you're scared of Jacobs losing but you never know what can happen. That's why they make the fights. It's too bad Jacobs is just as scared as you are otherwise we would see the fight, and then you would at least have a chance of seeing GGG beat. If Jacobs ducks then GGG will fight Saunders and get all the belts even sooner, cementing his legacy for all time. At least if he fights Jacobs first, he could catch a shot he doesn't see on the chin. But you're so scared of GGG winning that you don't even want to see that possibility given a chance. I guess you have no faith in GGG losing even to a fighter with elite speed AND power like Jacobs. That's how good you think GGG is, I guess?
You and Andre Ward certainly have a high opinion of GGG, but then so does everyone who knows boxing.

That is a lie and you know it.
Team Gigi offered Jacobs substantially less than he made fighting Quillin.
