No you misunderstand. We can say it's whatever you want, but the record books will continue to state that he's been champ since he first won that title whether it's BS or not. I know it's crap, you know it's crap, but that doesn't change the way it'll be recorded. The rules haven't been changed specifically for Golovkin, he's merely the beneficiary of the absurd multiplication of titles. And yes. Absolutely. There should be one title per division. And 'disrespecting Hopkins'? You're probably more concerned than the old man is himself. He's secure in his legacy and history will make of Golovkin what it will. That's for the boxing fans and pundits of the future to decide when they look back with a cooler eye.

If Sergey loses to Ward next , will Jurgen Brahmer have been a longer running champ with a higher defence count?
Its universally accepted that Breamher is a mickey Mouse champ and that Kovalev is real Champ and history will see it that way.

there's an easier fight against canelo for more money. and an absolute no brainer against pacquiao in a second fight, which would piss me off but easily sell 1-2 million in ppv.
