People should remind Abel that Floyd Publicly said that if Golovkin fights Ward he'd do it.

Nah. Floyd said if he FIGHTS Ward, win or lose. Translation: Ward will not go to 168 for Lil'G because that's old news. Translation 2: Lil'G too soft at LHW, and Translation 3: 164 request, when Roman Gonzalez heard of the news, he literally cried and didn't want to be on Lil'G's undercards, but HBO said "you do what we say... bow down to your true pimps!"Comment

Ha ha ha. Well no, actually Floyd said that if GGG beats Ward then he'd fight him.
Abel's full of **** and/or delusional, but I don't believe Floyd either, he just put that out there cos he knows it ain't happening.

If Golovkin is earnestly going to make a run at Hopkins' record, it becomes more than obvious that he and his camp were full of **** when they talked that "anyone from 154-168" nonsense.
depending on whatever count you want to believe (when Golovkin actually became an actual world champion is still up to discussion), you're looking at at least another 4 title defenses at 160 (Bernard Hopkins successfully defended the IBF 160 belt 20 times).
Golovkin is already 34 years old (35 by the time that he likely fights after the Jacobs fight is hopefully made). Stack on those final three title defenses and Golovkin is likely nearly 36, still boiling his body down to the same 160lbs that he's been competing at since he was basically 21 years old.
350 amateur fights, 40 pro fights/fight camps, with the last 15 years at the same weight doesn't speak for much more longevity.
And that's assuming folks ignore the fact that Felix Sturm was still the WBA's 160lb champion for Golovkin's first 5 "title defenses", which would add another year or year and a half to his pushComment
