They have several common opponents. Jones won all the belts they stripped from DM.

DM was a big strong LH with skills and power. He could be a little robotic but knew how to finish opponents and break them down

he had a great jab, he was pretty accurate...wasnt the hardest to hit wasnt a one punch ko artist. IMO Jones would have outclassed him.

    here is a highlights

same situation as Kovalev and stevenson.....Jones is considered the best by the public like Kovalev but DM was lineal like Stevenson.

I've got to ask you a question mate.

We both know that Dariusz had skills and was extremely tough etc, but what's your take on the first Roch fight when he overreacted and feigned injury to get him DQ'd?

I think it was an absolute joke.

In my opinion, he was never good enough to have beaten Roy, and I think that his name/reputation was enhanced by the fight not having happened.

    *edit*

I didn't realised this had been discussed earlier on in the thread.

DM couldnt carry Jones jockstrap...made no sense to go to germany as the bigger name with all the belts, big hbo contract and fight over in a country where many have been screwed

The only intrigue was that DM was undefeated, he beat hill first, and that he had size on jones

nothing he did technically was anything Jones couldnt overcome

        I agree entirely.

I don't understand the thinking behind the people who say Dariusz would have beaten him.

The tiger was very good indeed. One of the best ever light-heavies but just short of the very top echelon. He was the threat to Roy Jones during their overlapping light-heavy reigns. Michalczewski's chances of beating Roy would have been decent, certainly better than Roy's other opponents and indeed they both had similar results against the same opponents but ultimately Roy would have very likely won the fight, possibly by stoppage. I loved watching the tiger, probably my favourite ever light-heavy along with Qawi.

Holyfield-Qawi I is simply one of the greatest ever fights, great fight and great contrast in styles. Qawi had the oddest body shape, like a complete square. Qawi slipped and rolled with punches so beautifully. I actually think he was more talented than Joe Frazier although Frazier had that great left hook.
