    How good was Dariusz Michalczewski?

Looking at his record there, he has some pretty decent names on it. Only lost 2 fights, one after a comeback from a 2 year lay off i assume, and one SD.

A lot of average competition on his record too and never really left Germany, but as i say, there's a few decent names on it too that he beat.

I was a bit young to see him fight. Was he very good, or a bit of a Sven Ottke?

He had two good wins against Virgil Hill and Montell Griffin but other than that nothing but he had 24 title defense so he was alright

He was considered Roy jones' only threat at 175.

They have several common opponents. Jones won all the belts they stripped from DM.

Neither wanted to leave their back yard

DM was a big strong LH with skills and power. He could be a little robotic but knew how to finish opponents and break them down

he had a great jab, he was pretty accurate...wasnt the hardest to hit wasnt a one punch ko artist. IMO Jones would have outclassed him.

      here is a highlights

same situation as Kovalev and stevenson.....Jones is considered the best by the public like Kovalev but DM was lineal like Stevenson.

Good champion. Very effective pressure fighter, had a way of making guys tire without high output by constantly staying on top of them, cutting the ring off very effectively and making them weary of his very heavy hands..

        A 175lb Tszyu.

I think he was the real deal. He could've gave prime RJJ a run for his money. He was a big LHW, durable, good power & stamina, and high volume.

A really excellent LHW in his time. Good jab, good power, good stamina and a decent resume. Made a living off of fighting Roy Jones leftovers and using that as a soundboard to claim he was the man to beat him (sound familiar?). In retrospect, was a tad overhyped.

A shameless attempt at derailing the thread. Smh

You couldn't help yourself could you? You couldn't just do like a poster above did and said "they had common opponents" huh?

It goes beyond common opponents whether you like it or not. Their whole campaign was based off of Roy Jones. But since you think I'm derailing, why are you assisting me to do so? If you don't agree that that's what Klaus Peter-Kohl did, say why. If not, then you're derailing just as hard. So let's see which option you go with
