Get a plan together and make sure your package is polished and ready to go by the time it hits the mainstream. As it is they are 1.5 years and $100s of millions into the experiment and still seem a bit clueless as to how to do this thing.
Yep. If he would've started out a standard promoter and built himself up with quality it could've worked. Instead he focused on mass quantity trying to push out any competition and ended up spoiling his own product.

Too many time buys, too many fighters. Just should've focused on smaller group of talented fighters and invested into their development. Of course the whole point of him getting that money was to duplicate the UFC. But he ignored the common complaint against the UFC - low fighter pay. Keep them hungry and match them tough = fans/customers #1, fighters #2.

none of us know how much money haymon has left, but he has over a dozen world champions and has showtime locked up by the balls.

      arum has NOTHING.

      oscar has ONE FIGHTER.

haymon is in the driver's seat.

I think PBC will be fine. Only thing different from last year is they're not gonna be putting on cards in the Fall (at least not as many.)

And HBO isn't putting on any cards either. Other than Fury-Klit rematch and Kov-Ward which is PPV, just one. And Fury-Klit is really a Sky Sports production the HBO crew will just be overseas.

either that or at least enter the scene with a **** and spend all of that investor money on making the biggest and best fights as soon and as frequently as possible. for example if garcia-broner, thurman-porter and jacobs-quillin had been made right off the bat i am pretty sure the project would've garnered a lot more attention and a lot more goodwill from us fans

instead they just carried on the usual boxing MO that has been haemorrhaging fans for the past decade except paying even more money for even less compelling fights. and the channel proliferation was a dumb business model from the start too

i think this is haymon's main problem. as a manager it's his job to look out for his fighters' interests, but as a promoter you have to be principally concerned with creating a product that fans want to buy into. the fundamental conflict of interest that arises from haymon trying to perform both roles simultaneously is the project's fatal flaw

Yep I was very surprised by the matchmaking policy. Generally I dont think Haymon can even get the big fights even if he wants them now. His fighters have too much leverage in terms of purses and who they fight as long as HBO is still around.

He seems hell bent on keeping them happy before anything else, and its hurting his brand and seemingly his pockets no end.

He is banking a lot on being able to outlast HBO in this, but im not sure he will. If he does I think we will see purses drop and tougher fights being made.

rafael is a simple minded guy looking at things in the most simplistic way possible.

look at the big picture and you see that haymon is in a better position than ever to eventually monopolize US boxing.

"We're working on the 2016 schedule now. We had some blips going head to head with college football, so the discussion is figuring out what to steer clear of," Kay said. "We're bringing the younger MMA audience to boxing. We want to make sure we have the best opportunity to succeed."

That's a quote from the Spike TV president from Feb. 2016. Sounds a lot like the only quote in this article.

No. Haymon had $434 million to burn and the others didn't. Give the same huge amount to Arum or Oscar, plus PBC fighters and both would have made more quality fights than Haymon. $434 million in one year is not what you call "dried up."
