That dude as a translator has always blown it.....Tom is playing with words. That translator got it wrong. Canelo said they haven't responded, he didn't say they rejected it. HBO needs to fire him. This is the second post fight interview with Canelo that he's gotten wrong. Oscar and Gomez have both said K2 didn't respond they never said the offer was rejected.Comment

If they were lying about the 10 mil+ offer don't you think Golovkins team would have said so? Loeffler, Sanchez and Golovkins manager have all gave responses and not one of them has denied the 10+ mil offer. I think it's safe to say it's real.Comment

GGG vs Jacobs is the battle the best two boxers in the MW division.
Can Canelo beat Jacobs? To find it out, Canelo should fight one of the top boxers in the MW division. Canelo's next fight is in may, it will be ineresting to see him against Lemieux or Jacobs or Saunders or Eubank jr.Comment

Expect GBP to dangle millions infront of Saunders if Canelo gets that strap then he has more bargaining power over Triple GComment

Loeffler was being very diplomatic because he still wants to make the fight. However, he did say that more negotiations is needed in order to make it a fair deal. This is pretty much implying that this deal DLH is talking about isn't a fair deal. Additionally, why would a promoter take this offer seriously when DLH himself said he's targeting September of 2017?...also, Canelo is out for the rest of the year. And Loeffler does say that he thought they weren't going to negotiate in public. This makes it seem like DLH is trying to sabotage that fight from happening. So, essentially, you are taking DLH's side & encouraging that he sabotage the fight? As a boxing fan, I still want the fight. But to offer GGG what could possible be 10% of the money when he brings in half of the interest just isn't going to work in the real world.Comment

This is a tactic often used by professional athletes. If an athlete bets on himself, then they're risking this money now in order to make more later on. And GGG's fanbase might very well grow from now until September, making his bargaining position that much stronger. Some might not agree with taking that risk. But it's not like it's never been done before. I can use baseball as an example. Tim Lincecum, starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, refused a lucrative extension. Instead, he bet on himself that he could make more. In the end, he did make significantly more when the Giants were forced to give him a 2-year deal worth 40mil. That's just one case where betting on yourself worked out. I think if GGG & his team want to take that risk, more power to them. I still want that fight. As long as it looks like September 2017 everything is good. But my question to you guys is: do you sign a deal now, a year early for this fight or do you risk losing the fight altogether by continuing to try to negotiate over time for a better deal if circumstances change with PPV buys/Popularity etc...?Comment

But is it fair to GGG?...who will bring in half the interest for this fight. Is it fair? Do we know how much Canelo is going to get in that deal? Too many questions & too much speculation.Comment

Actually, there are rumors out there that say GGG/Brook did around 400k on Sky Sports. That pretty much puts him on the same drawing level as Canelo. If this is true, then using the ppv draw argument becomes moot for all Canelo supporters. I guarantee you'll say that I'm just making s##t up. So, here...I didn't make up the rumors...I just read about them. You left out the most important fact. He sold 97k ppv's and has had only 1 ppv fight. You think the head honchos at HBO care that ggg has belts or sold out the O2 arena. The answer is no plain and simple. There is a reason they only back canelo when it comes to ppv's. He has the Mexican fan base behind as was evident with his recent fight at Cowboy stadium. I was at the fight and there were Mexicans, whites, blacks, and Asians all wearing Canelo gear. You can hate Canelo all you want for his antics outside the ring, but when it comes to negotiating a ppv for the lions share of the money ggg does not have a leg to stand on. It's evident from GGG's 97k career ppv sales vs Canelos 4.3 million ppv sales. If ggg and his team are persistent and counter offer with ggg has all the belts Canelo can counter offer with making a fight without the belts. Then ggg really loses any leverage he had. It's a catch 20/20. He can take the offer, make $15-$20 million and negotiate a better deal if he wins for the rematch or he can lose out on the fight entirely and end his career without the biggest fight of his career.
