As long as it looks like September 2017 everything is good. But my question to you guys is: do you sign a deal now, a year early for this fight or do you risk losing the fight altogether by continuing to try to negotiate over time for a better deal if circumstances change with PPV buys/Popularity etc...?

well loughler used that excuse on why not signing a 50-50 deal with ward saying the lemiuix ppv might do well and it bombed so i guess u could take that risk. at end day tho ggg will never be as big star as canelo with his built in fan base anyway

Ward is a great fighter but he shouldn't get 50/50 anyway..same way GGG shouldn't vs Canelo..... I agree, GGG will never be as big but if he beats Jacobs and Saunders before September does he deserve more then the current offer or does it not matter?

I'm officially bored of this GGG/Canelo crap now.

It really is "Dancing with the Stars".

How about we focus on actual fights and leave these two to smash their vaginas through the media?

If Golovkin unifies MW, even if he only gets to dispatch Jacobs while Saunders slithers away, GGG's popularity will increase and I suspect he'll have greater leverage at the negotiating table next year. With this injury, Canelo may not enter the ring before May; he's also a 2-fight/year diva now. And given his recent choices of opponents, he's not going to up his game before next September. So there will be more pressure on Canelo to make the fight. The reality is that he's already ducked hard once. K2 would be fools to commit to a money split this early because as much as Canelo is the A-side, he also needs Golovkin as a dance partner to make boxing's biggest money fight.

Man in what twisted world is GGG a B side that deserves a flat fee like some mandatory. This man is the most talked about fighter in the hardcore fan circles and the casual boxing world.
              • He sold out MSG, The Forum and The 02. He was the bigger fighter in all three events
              • Currently stands as the #3 P4P fighter in the world.
              • Has 4 of the 5 middleweight championships
              • Most dominant fighter in his division
              • Undefeated with 33 KO's, highest KO percentage in middleweight history and 23 KO streak
              • Has never been outclassed in a fight in his life
              • Delivered a knock down/out in every fight he's been in.

And somehow the cinnamon colored cunt Canelo is an A side for some strange reason. boy made 3.5 mil in his last fight and is dictating? If it wasn't for the mexicans that watch his fights twice a year, he'd be another Saunders.

He got nothing to bring to the table other than a loss to Mayweather that endeared us to him, a win over an old Mosley and a win over a smaller Cotto for a belt that he later vacated which made us hate him. Seems like he had a real HOF'er run.

I guess the folks "talking" about him don't buy his ppv or tune into his mismatch fights.
The reality of it is, no matter what your opinion of resumes and title holding is, more people pay to see Alvarez than they do Golovkin. Significantly more.

WOW, Canelo fought 3 HOF's since saturday?, that's some GOAT stuff.
OHHHHH, you are talking about Mosley, Cotto and Floyd in their last moments of their pro careers and even when arguably lost two of those fights even when he is in his prime and is "the best fighter in the business".

You left out the most important fact. He sold 97k ppv's and has had only 1 ppv fight. You think the head honchos at HBO care that ggg has belts or sold out the O2 arena. The answer is no plain and simple. There is a reason they only back canelo when it comes to ppv's. He has the Mexican fan base behind as was evident with his recent fight at Cowboy stadium. I was at the fight and there were Mexicans, whites, blacks, and Asians all wearing Canelo gear. You can hate Canelo all you want for his antics outside the ring, but when it comes to negotiating a ppv for the lions share of the money ggg does not have a leg to stand on. It's evident from GGG's 97k career ppv sales vs Canelos 4.3 million ppv sales. If ggg and his team are persistent and counter offer with ggg has all the belts Canelo can counter offer with making a fight without the belts. Then ggg really loses any leverage he had. It's a catch 20/20. He can take the offer, make $15-$20 million and negotiate a better deal if he wins for the rematch or he can lose out on the fight entirely and end his career without the biggest fight of his career.

Funny stuff those fake tweets, and the picture in that Avatar is of that chick who got fired over making racist remarks against ***s, Mexicans & Asians. The sad part is that what is on those tweets is not so ludicrous to believe. Canelo can beat GGG at 154, but not going up.
