Exactly. No way he's fighting this year. Too risky. He needs 10-12 months to avoid re-injury to the eye socket and his first fight should be a tune up, not Canelo.

Solid point. Those orbital injuries usually take the better part of a year. Not sure how bad Brook's is or isn't, but fighting Canelo in 8 months might not be possible or a good idea.

The damaged was done to the orbital bone and not the orbit itself. Therefore, he should be just fine. In addition, his doctors has confirmed that once the swelling goes down he will have surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, so he can resume his boxing career.

If that's true, then it's excellent news.

According to Eddie Hearn, the hospital told him Brook will be ok and able fight again around May 2017.

other than feeling him out center ring for the first part of each round he counters lateral movement by attacking and keeps brook sandwiched on the ropes to prevent distance control... throughout

GGG cuts the ring so well, and so smoothly, that 80% of people watching the fight don't even realise he's doing it.

If he ever fought Lara you would see post after post here saying, "something was wrong with Lara ... he wasn't moving like he usually does ..." etc, etc, after GGG cut the ring on him and KHTFO inside 5 rounds.
