Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Brook Draws HBO's Interest For May 2017, Says Hearn

If Brook goes from fighting no names in Britain, to fighting GGG, then Canelo/Cotto/Khan in succession, you can only say that's good for boxing. Any time these name guys who have been fighting no names start stepping up to the bigger stage and taking risks, that is good for boxing.
Now, depending on how good Brook really is, it may or may not be good for Brook. He would beat Khan easily, probably Cotto but who knows where Cotto is at now. Canelo I'm not sure. We'll have to see what Brook's power is at 154. But these are pretty good, not great, fights. For them to be great fights we need proof first that Brook is actually a top 154. If he could dominate someone like Austin Trout first that would tell us a lot, make these other matchups much more interesting.

He might beat canelo. Brook can move and he has shown in the past he has a good jab. Canelo is flat footed and goes straight back and lack head movement. Could be interesting

But actually, if Canelo fights Brook at Caneloweight May next year, how is he going to fight GGG at 160? I thought he was going to work his body up to 160 for GGG September next year?
So actually I don't want this fight at all. Canelo needs to fight middleweights to get ready for GGG. I want to see Canelo-Lemieux, that's a great fight.
