Kell Brook took dead-on shots from Golovkin, and didn't fold up. Golovkin's gone years without ever flattening someone.
Why folks continue to act as if Golovkin is one-punching guys is laughable.
he doesn't need to be to ko jacobs.are you forgetting that he was dropped by light punching mora if golovkin is able to get jacobs in the ring he will walk away with a highlight reel ko you can count on it.
OK. You're right of course, I was being facetious. You do know why GGG wanted to get his mando out of the way in April rather than June or July though, don't you?
Of course. They were clearing the way for Alvarez.
it WAS ordered by the IBF. That other poster doesnt know what he's talking about. There was a mando due immediately, because the title was vacant when Lemeiux won it vs Ndam, which meant he only had 6 months to do a mando, instead of the usual 9 months. Therefore the winner of GGG-Lemieux had to do an immediate mandatory, as it was due. It could have been postponed in lieu of a unification fight, but obviously that didnt happen. Johnson got hurt and withdrew, so the IBF just goes down the list until they find someone willing and able, as they did with Wade at #3.
Anyone who knows how the IBF operates knows that the idea is laughable that Lindsay Tucker would infer that the rules could be broken for GGG. These are the people who stripped Tyson Fury after he beat Klitschko and wouldnt do his mando, but theyre gonna give GGG a pass for the same thing?? lol whatever...
for those that are interested, part C has the relevant clause......

Notice of Mandatory Obligation
1. General
The Championships Chairman will notify the Champion and the mandatory challenger approximately sixty (60) days prior to the mandatory due date and the boxers must observe that obligation. The Champion shall negotiate with the leading available contender as designated by the Championships Chairman and the President. If they are unable to negotiate the terms of the bout within thirty (30) days, they have the obligation to proceed to a purse bid under the procedure set forthin Rule 10.
(a)
The Champion and the mandatory Challenger may not box any other
contestant within 60 days of the mandatory due date.
(b)
A Champion’s failure to comply with this obligation will be sufficient cause to have the Championships Committee and Board of Directors consider withdrawing recognition of the title.
(c) The Challenger’s failure to comply with this rule will result in the Championships Committee recognizing the next leading available
contender as the mandatory challenger and moving the challenger to a position below #10 in the rankings for at least six (6) months.
As per the January rankings, the mandatory due date was April 17, 2016. As long as they request an optional 90 days before that, Tucker can approve. We're reading the same rules bud. And no one is saying that the IBF didn't order the fight or that they would break the rules for Trip, but the Chairman has a lot of authority when it comes to optional fights and when the named mandatory challenger cannot fight. The rules don't compel a mandatory to be named immediately.
I'm just saying that fighting Wade could have been avoided. Particularly given the fact that had the IBF known his situation they could have ruled him unfit. Moreover, the rankings could have been reracked prior to naming a mandatory.

This is starting to give me a headache. You can only request an optional to take priority over a mando if that optional is a unification bout. Loeffler tried that. He tried for both Canelo and Saunders, both which would have qualified as a unification. Neither fight got made, therefore they HAD to fight Wade. And as to your assertion that when johnson withdrew a new mando didnt need to be appointed immediately, perhaps you need to re-read part C of what I posted previously.
But its ******ed to keep arguing the point. We disagree on the rules interpretation, and we disagree as to how Lindsey would have handled a non-unification optional request. . Feel free to email Lindsey Tucker yourself and let him tell you the same thing I am telling you.
Jacobs has real power. Something that Golovkin has yet to face in his career. He also has boxing ability. He is also 6' in height. Jacobs would be Golovkin's best opponent to date. It's a fight that should happen.
Lemeuix.
Stevens.
Hasn't fought real power. **** this site is pathetic.

whoever catches who first in this fight is in big trouble, im sure GGG will fight a different fight than he fought vs brook. but if that uppercut brook landed, Jacobs lands it can be night night for GGG as well. we will see. I think GGG wins but after the brook fight im saying its 50/50. time will tell

Jacobs rushed in, not minding his defense, looking to put Mora out after dropping him hard, and got caught with a flash shot (Jacobs wasn't even down for a 5-count).
If that's what you want to hang your hat on, so be it
That's fine, but Hopkins stepped up, beating Tarver, Cloud, Pascal (should've been twice), had a close fight with Calzaghe, etc. Hopkins has also taken risks. You won't see triple ****head doing that....guaranteed
You're right. The comparison inly pertains to both guys at 160.
