LOL! The go to move of a stumped chump. Trip had 9 months to fight his mando. K2 asked the IBF for a replacement just so they could voluntarily fight a mando in April. There was NO requirement to fight Wade while he couldn't train.Comment

read the IBF rules you dunce. I dealt with the IBF for over a decade, so Im pretty sure I know the requirements regarding mandos. And if you dont believe me, call them yourself and ask.
And tell Daryl Peoples and Lindsey Tucker that I said hello.Comment

Oh, I'm sorry....when did Floyd drag a LW up to fight him that he needed permission because of a mismatch? Oh yeah, he didn't...nevermind.Comment

In all honesty there's really no reason for this fight not to happen. Both guys have just finished fight and both will have the same amount of rest and prep time. Plus BJS is going to be tied up until the first part of next year and this fight can happen before the year is out. Lets hope it happens!Comment

Golovkin fights nothing like Pirog, and that's been obvious for years now.
Golovkin doesn't switch stances, Golovkin doesn't catch/shoot, Golovkin doesn't work on the inside, Golovkin doesn't move his head, and Golovkin doesn't mind his defense.Comment

Except for the fact that he's mandatory challenger, with mechanisms already in place to give him and his camp leverage to secure a better deal for themselves (or simply be handed the vacant belt).
DiBella sees Golovkin-Jacobs in Brooklyn as being a bigger fight than K2 sees Gollovkin-Jacobs being at MSG, and will angle to bid accordingly.Comment

I doubt that K2 is willing to risk the money on the fight (especially when they'd be on the hook for any downside risks on "Mr 97k")Comment

I don't have all of the particulars, but DiBella Entertainment is likely able to sell out Barclays Center, at rather aggressive ticket prices, and Showtime (with promotional efforts put forward by Showtime/PBC) should be able to pull 200k-300k PPV buys. Here is the thing right now Jacobs has a bit of leverage because he can basically do whatever he is not exactly tied down so he can use that position to get a good deal for himself because purse bid is a crap shoot.
He can't be crazy because he should know what his side will pay for a purse bid so 25% of that is his minimum if they get outbid then that is better for him. However Golovkin side will also want to avoid a bid which can be a mess for their side as well. So Jacobs should play his hand fairly strong currently because he has some cards because Golovkin will not want to bring being forced to give up the WBA strap into play.
If Jacobs comes crazy and refuses to play ball it will just go to purse bid, then if that bid is low he probably walks. All this will be sorted out soon because if they see no hope they will call for a bid right away.
You add the international money for the fight (both Sky Sports and BoxNation are likely interested in carrying the fight, in addition to the other international TV partners), the sponsors, "Brooklyn Boxing" merch, and whatever other revenues, and what would you imagine DiBella seeing as his breakeven point on a bid for the fight?Comment
