The racial bs on here is beyond ridiculous. You don't like Ward? You're a racist, don't like golovkin? Well that must be because of race. Floyd? Yep, you're racist if you don't like him. Certainly Manny too right?
This is a f'ing forum people! Get over yourselves and just realize some people just DO NOT like a fighter because of the style, or because they feel they're not that great. I think golovkin is a total hype job for instance, but I'm just as friggen white, if not more so than he is. I like lomachenko, who is an eastern European fighter too, because he's better than golovkin...PERIOD you absolutely can not dispute that, even with a foul felted loss to salido who he would stop in a second fight. Either way, 7 fights and 2 weight classes, thus imo NOT a hype job. I liked Floyd in the ring, I don't outside of it. I cannot stand Danny Garcia, but Cotto has long been a favorite fighter of mine.
The simple fact in this is that it's really annoying when posters a get butthurt and act like pu$$ies because someone tells them what they think and they don't like it, so they cry racism. Stop acting like B itches here people.
Just gonna throw this out though >> if you are a white fan and you only support white fighters, does that make you racist? And does the same stay true for black fans? I reckon there are fans in here, both white and black who only support fighters of their own color. IMO that is racist. But interested in hearing other opinions.
Regards Golovkin, I'm on record saying is the most hyped fighter today. But there is a reason that the media [and it's not generally Golovkin himself] are hyping him ... 1st it creates headlines to paint monsters and secondly it's rare for any boxer to KO 22 fighters in a row and despite all the critics saying he hasn't fought anyone elite, which is true, many of those fighters were B level fighters on a world stage. Who else is KOing 22 contenders/ex-champs/prospects in a row?
I agree Loma is a better boxer than Golovkin, on current resume and the eye test, but Golovkin has been very effective until now. I think Brook is his stiffest competition to date, and that is because Brook is a lot better than most give him credit for.

A credible Commentator and assessor wouldn't make it obvious his style preference and other preferences.
He clearly craps on mayweather, his style and who he fought when clearly mayweather had the best resume of the era.
makes no sense giving manny all the credit in the world, yet crap on a guy who had a better career, better skills, and was the bigger star.
he is supposed to be a business man....pro boxing+ money=prizefighting
they fight for money and when he was pretty boy Floyd, being mr. nice guy and all smiles, People like Mickey ward, Arturo Gatti, guys who couldn't carry his jock strap were on ppv shows so were other inferior fighters in the late 90s, early 2000s
As far as his affect on the welterweight division, look at it in context....in all of his fights at the weight, these fighters were all top 3 welterweights....Baldomir, Judah, Pacquaio, Ortiz, Mosley....they are all former ww champions...the other former www champions he faced there were Hatton, Berto, and Maidana
if anything he has the best welterweight resume of the last 25 years and welterweight wasn't even his best weight to campaign.
if you're going to be critical, be consistently critical...Manny at 147 spent most of the time lining up opponents coming off of loses, bad showings, tko losses and catchweights.
