fans need the facts, not people's opinions of the fighters
Disagree. I follow boxing for entertainment. I expect commentators and journalists to have opinions and it adds to my entertainment to hear their opinions. Facts are great but often times they just aren't available - like what exactly were the real conversations that took place between K2 and Ward? All we have is 2 sides to a story.

One thing I will say is that too many current boxers look at Mayweather's ethos about money and admire it yet they have done nothing to warrant demanding huge $ to fight a competitive fight and most probably never will. As fans we don't get to see the fights we want to see when they should happen.
People look at the post de la hoya...money mayweather...that's all the know

they didn't see him paying dues and taking risks....first title at 21, 18th pro fight, beat Castillo with ****ed up shoulder and hand, fighting on Boxing after dark and regular hbo while guys Like Gatti, Hamed, Mickey Ward Barrera were on PPV and couldn't carry his jockstrap. The kid was a 3 division titlist by his mid 20s and had over 10 defenses of the belt he won.

Manny people weren't even following boxing on this site in the 90s.

Just gonna throw this out though >> if you are a white fan and you only support white fighters, does that make you racist? And does the same stay true for black fans? I reckon there are fans in here, both white and black who only support fighters of their own color. IMO that is racist. But interested in hearing other opinions.

Regards Golovkin, I'm on record saying is the most hyped fighter today. But there is a reason that the media [and it's not generally Golovkin himself] are hyping him ... 1st it creates headlines to paint monsters and secondly it's rare for any boxer to KO 22 fighters in a row and despite all the critics saying he hasn't fought anyone elite, which is true, many of those fighters were B level fighters on a world stage. Who else is KOing 22 contenders/ex-champs/prospects in a row?

I agree Loma is a better boxer than Golovkin, on current resume and the eye test, but Golovkin has been very effective until now. I think Brook is his stiffest competition to date, and that is because Brook is a lot better than most give him credit for.
No I don't think it makes one racist to like just white or black fighters, but it depends on WHY one chooses to like them. Do you like white fighters because you hate black fighters, and want to see them lose to white ones? If so, then you're likely a racist. I like fighters based on skills, based on how honest they are about their abilities, some of them are ****y, but likeable such as Ali was. You could dislike Ali's arrogance, but some part of you always sort of liked him, even if you didn't admit it. Floyd was ****y, but he didn't have that same charisma...so to not like him is very understandable, if you were not able to appreciate his ring ability.

My whole point is pulling the race card is sort of like taking your ball and going home. When you have no legit argument and pull that whiny ****, it's just ******, and shows lack of intellect and ability to just keep quiet if you can't debate.

Who said anything about won? I'm saying Ggg is stopping Lara is what most would expect, 9/10 here.

Many fans are casual fans and you are not enticing them to come back by chastising the house fighters....just saying

bruh...its tacky as hell to watch a fighter dominating someone while being criticzed for making it look easy

they did the same thing to Roy Jones in his prime....not cool. How about explaining to fans what he is doing to dominate the opponent instead of belittle both fighters

every fight isn't going to be a war or rock em sock em robots

It would all be funny if it weren't so SAD.
cant forget the "record"....what record? bwahahahahahahaha Hopkins(major title defenses record) and Monzon(lineal defenses record) actually won their titles in the ring...no elevation or stripping.

Well said! And usually certain race's tend to fight/train a certain way. So if a person like that particular style/color I don't think thats racist. Personally I like a variety of races/styles.

                Current favorite fighters are...

                Ward
                Kovalov
                CanYellow
                GGG
                Rig.
                Thurman
                Santa Cruz
                Spence Jr.
                Mikey Garcia
                Diego De La Hoya

I'm not really into British Boxing/Boxers for some reason I just noticed??? Maybe I'm racist lol!!!

They BLASTED Jones for fighting his Mandatories and NOT the fights everyone wanted to see just like GGG.

I'd say there's some of that happening on both sides. Of course pulling the race card instead of debating is ignorant. On the other hand you posters who always seem to post favorably on fighters of one color and against those of another color. It's more than coincidence.

I loved watching Ali in and out of a ring. Most charismatic sports person of my lifetime if not ever [and occasionally the 2 seem to coincide!]. Hagler was another favorite. Mayweather great in the ring not so much out of it. Be a good thread to name and shame the most obnoxious fighters out of the ring, I'm guessing nsb posters couldn't stay objective.
