difference is in GGG's case he gets benefit of doubt. He doesn't get blasted by the networks, media or publications. The only people who are hard on him about who he fights is die hard fans, and pro boxers and trainers who think his hype hasn't matched his opposition, which is true. They say he is being ducked. People are calling him out, but who was calling out Jones in the 90s, early 2000s? No one

lets be real....who wanted to fight a prime Roy Jones? Chris Eubank even admitted fighting Jones would have been suicide...every one on that sky sports special conceded Jones was the class of 160-175.

its one thing to fight some one and get knocked out, that happens, Jones at was knocking guys out and embarrassing guys to boot. Barely getting hit.

At that point Jones had wins over a dozen world champions, won titles at 160,168, and 175 and still got crapped on in the late 90s......when he was GGG's age, he already won titles in 4 divisions and beat almost 20 world champions whereas HBO is hyping GGG to the heavens and he has only won one title in the ring, the others were gift wrapped and he only beat 3 former world champions.

GGG has gotten benefit of doubt more than Jones ever did and Jones was far more accomplished and talented

they did it often when Jones fought......Merchant called Mayweather boring to his face after he beat Baldomir...didn't give him any credit for white washing the guy and winning a 3rd lineal title in his 4th division......0 class

They hated Jones with the passion. And I don't even want to think about all the sht he would of got for bringing up a guy two divisions below him for a fight. I agree GGG does get away with a lot more than most. Even saying this 154-168 nonsense is doing any harm to his reputation...

I couldn't STAND that C@ckSucking DRUNK!! He was soo DISRESPECTFUL to fighters. Especially Black ones. He should of been kicked of HBO years ago.

            he "resigned"

I think HBO gave him the option to step down gracefully because he had so many years in the bank, but he literally pushed away the fighter that kept the network alive as far as boxing and brought in all the highest ppv

Ppl want to fight him but everyone knows K2 is CHEAP as Fk!!! And do most of their negotiations through the media to make the other boxer look bad. Or they turn down "life changing money" $4-6 million when in fact it was $1.5. I blasted Saunders and thought he was a POS ducker until I found out K2 was lying out their @sses.

with or without lenses, he made an azz of himself on more than one occasion.

He was a lot better in the 80s and early 90s
