If u look at the botton, it shows 10 more that should be in that list. DLH is the second one on their, making him the 12 most over-rated athlete in ANY SPORT!!! ANY SPORT!!! THAT INCLUDES...well...EVERY OTHER SPORT!!! This is compiled of multiple boxing experts. If this doesnt satisfy u, i guess i find more if u want
how many boxing experts were polled on this?? maybe one.
in his last 10 fights oscar has faced better people than hatton has ever faught. if hatton ever fights floyd he will get beat and every body will see who is overrated. i love these guys trying to make great american fighters look like ****

yea...but still I won't give de la hoya cred if he becomes WBC Champ. One, he shoulnt have gotten the chance to fight fo it cuz he fought 2 of his klast 2 fights at middleweight AND LOST! He aint ranked at 154lbs 2, Mayorages' belt is a joke to begin with.

the only thing that would make me give respect to Oscar is IF HE KOes Mayorga, cuz he's been talkin mad smack sayin "I will give this guy a lesson. This guy got to my skin. I wanna hurt this guy" etc......

But that only stands with some Mexicans and not all. Especially considering many of them will completely disregard his ring history because of the way he started fighting after the Tito endeavour.

But just to break this down a bit: Nobody can claim he's overrated.

When he first entered the sport he was racking up highly impressive victories such as:

Maromero Paez when he was considered a tough name at the lower weights, and a huge, dangerous, rugged puncher

John John Molina who was an excellent fighter at the time, and was completely stifled by Oscar

Rafael Ruelas....in an unbelieveable performance where Oscar made quick work of him in two rounds. Ruelas was highly regarded at the time also

Gernaro Hernandez.....who was a majory victory for the current P4P number 1 fighter in Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Jesse James Leija who at the time was an excellent fighter although he originally started at lower weights.

Julio Cesar Chavez....all time great who only had 1 loss on his record, and yeah....you could say JCC was past his prime but I still say it was impressive

Miguel Angel Gonzales, undefeated at the time and Oscar fought a brilliant fight.....winning a decision.

Pernell Whittaker....sure people claim Whittaker was robbed, but I don't buy it. Oscar was the effective aggressor and he clearly won the fight

Macho Camacho.....sure you could claim he was past his prime, but he remained a dangerous fighter because of his will.

Wilfredo Rivera.....a durable now journeyman who at the time posed a major threat to top names....and gave Sweet Pea a hell of a fight

Ike Quartey.....who was a total wrecking ball, and possessed (still does) one of the best jabs in the sport. I suppose you could point to that decision and call it a "robbery" but I wouldn't go that far

Oba Carr....if any of you know boxing....you'd know that he was an outstanding fighter at the time and Oscar came on strong in the later rounds and really took the fight to him stopping him.

Felix Trinidad.....he was pretty much robbed outright and you need to rewatch the fight if you don't belive that.

Shane Mosley.....he was totally robbed in the second encounter...and if you don't think so, you need to go back and watch the fight

I could go on all day, and we would get nowhere. Because the topic starter has no ****ing clue what he's discussing.
I agree the Whitaker fight was no robbery. Oscar deserved the win

I disagree the Quartey fight should of gone to Ike.

I totally agree the topic starter has no ****ing clue

The damn Ike fight was so tough to score man....in fact. The last time I watched it, I scored it for Oscar. But then again...I remember watching it the first time and scoring it for Ike. Tough, call and it's pretty much a pickem decision.

"Thanks, man. I needed a good laugh. Calling Oscar overrated, yet he has picture of Hatton. Lord have mercy on some of these clowns."

Did i ever say Hatton wasnt overrated. He is VERY overrated in England, and is a tad overrated here in america, only because people have him as a GOD of sport. The reason i like Hatton so much is because he's a warrior. By far the best conditioned fighter in the game. His stamina is excellent.

I also like him because he is smart in the ring. He is able to change up his syles and conform to counter his opponents style.

And finally, i love hatton because he's a true gentleman of the game. He is an excellent guy out of the ring. I have heard reporters on ESPN, ESPN2, AND HBO, go out of their ways to call Hatton a great guy, a gentleman, and a truly nice guy. Any proffesional athlete who can be nice to his fan AND reporters deserves all the respect in the world. FOr this same reason, i respect DLH... but i dislike him cause he beat Julio Cesar Chavez... who i liked very much.

The fight was close between Oscar and Ike, up until the last round. Oscar showed the heart of a warrior and he wanted to win that fight , more than Ike.

Yes Oscar did. The problem I have with the fight is two judges already had him winning going into the 12th round.

wrong, delahoya is a great fighter. all you have to do is watch. he had one of the best left hooks that we will ever get to see and his skills are far more developed than most of the fighters around today.

Everyone thinks DLH is gonna kill Ricardo Mayorga. Mayorga is an acomplished fighter. There is no way Mayorga isnt gonna put up the fight of his life. When Moyarga fights his best... he wins. His major losses were very early in his career... you cant blame him for that.

The only advantage DLH has is "in-ring experience." Mayorga has like 34 fights or something and DLH has a little over 40 fights. Mayorga has a better KO% though.

I actually want DLH to win though, because i wanna see DLH vs Mayweather, and the only way thats gonna happen is if DLH wins. But that doesnt make De La Hoya probably THE most over-rated fighter of ALL-TIME!!! Not even exagerating. THE media hyped him to much ever since he beat Julio Cesar Chavez by TKO. That was his only amazing fight

I HATE THIS GUY!!!! MOST OVER-RATED FIGHTER OF ALL TIME!!!! EVER!!! ARG!!!
                      ur a idiot..de la hoya is a hall of famer..he was unbeatable @ 135 and 140 i mean UNBEATABLE
