Hatton becomes a star thats good for him but he won't be like DLH. DLH an international star thats a household name, future HOF, 6 division title holder, part of the biggest non heavyweight fight. Like him or hate him you can't deny he's a big name that deserves what he's earned. Unless you got 1/3 brain of everyone else on this planet.

Hatton is a star on a little island. If Hatton gets twice as big people will learn his first name in the US.

Oscar de la Hoya isnt the superstar that everyone hypes him up to be. He is a very good fighter, but nothing more. He is by all means not a star, or even an excellent fighter.

Everyone thinks DLH is gonna kill Ricardo Mayorga. Mayorga is an acomplished fighter. There is no way Mayorga isnt gonna put up the fight of his life. When Moyarga fights his best... he wins. His major losses were very early in his career... you cant blame him for that.

The only advantage DLH has is "in-ring experience." Mayorga has like 34 fights or something and DLH has a little over 40 fights. Mayorga has a better KO% though.

I actually want DLH to win though, because i wanna see DLH vs Mayweather, and the only way thats gonna happen is if DLH wins. But that doesnt make De La Hoya probably THE most over-rated fighter of ALL-TIME!!! Not even exagerating. THE media hyped him to much ever since he beat Julio Cesar Chavez by TKO. That was his only amazing fight

And you guys are taking what im saying TOTALLY wrong. I've said MULTIPLE times today that DLH is an excellent fighter. He is a very good fighter. A legend? possibly... he is certainly good enough, and will definetly be remembered for years.

But lets take a casual fan of the sport A guy that doesnt buy fights, but downloads them after they happen. You know, a guy that likes the idea of boxing, but never really got TOO into it. He doesnt know to much about the sweet science, doesnt really follow any fighters, and just watches when he is bored. I bet u ask him the following questions about DLH, ull get the following answers:

What is DLH's record?
Undefeated. Maybe a loss or 2, but they were early in his career.

What type of figher is DLH?
DLH is the perfect mix of speed and power. He can KO anyone with that left hook and is fast enough to dodge any punch from anyone around.
(hes got a great hook, and is fast, but cannot do either of those things)

What Weight-class is DLH in?
No idea

Why is he so good?
He has beaten all the greats, even Julio Cesar chavez.

Oh and I totally disagree with the topic here. DLH is an all time legend, and has a shot at becoming a top 10 all time fighter if he defeats Mayo and Floyd.

I don't have the time to get into why he's great, and I'll just leave off with stating that he might have the best record in professional boxing.

I am willing to bet my life that Mayweather ****s DLH up. DLH wont wanna step into the ring after that fight. Mayweathers to fast, to quick, he gets you when u dont expect it, and he knows how perform in the clutch. Mayweather would outclass and destroy DLH. The world hasn't seen a fighter like Mayweather. A man that can outclass, and dominate nearly every opponent he faces.

Name one fighter that has done this at the level Mayweather has. This is ALL coming from a guy, me, that doesnt even like Mayweather. I like watching him fight... but outside the ring he's an ass. He and hatton got into a small fight. now we beefin'.lol.

But seriously, Hatton is the only fighter i see having a chance against mayweather. HEAR ME OUT! HEAR ME OUT! when Hatton was interviewed about Mayweather he sounded confident. Every fighter wants to sound confident before they fight a guy, but hatton sounded overly confident.

And im not saying Hatton is the best fighter either. there are TONS of fighters better then him fighting right now, but i dont see any of them beating Mayweather. Hattons style is the only one that i see pressuring Mayweathers style. Hattons power will disable Mayweathers brilliant countering for a good percentage of the fight. And there is no doubting Hattons SUPER conditioning. absolutely excellent, amazing, brilliant. Mayweather (the only time i can say this) can be out ... "stood" (for lack of a better word) like Hatton could stand up longer in the ring after taking a beating then Mayweather could.

And Hatton could have fought Augustus? really? i love both of those guys. would have enjoyed that fight. Augustus would never go down though. anyone see that Mayweather vs Augustus fight? (i think he might have been Emanuel Burton at the time...) Augustus took the worst beating of his life. He was smothered. But he NEVER went down. Any fighter would have gone down. Gotta love the EMANUEL AGUSTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

De La Hoya is easily one of the best fighters of the last 20 years. Don't judge him on recent fights, see him in his early career at lighter weights and you'll see what all the fuss was about

To the guy who wrote this how much crack did your mom smoke before she had you?When ever De La Hoya steps up he loses plain and simple.First he was beat by Whitaker and of course Whitaker was robbed then by Quartey,then by Trinidad,then Mosley,then the Sturm,then Hopkins, and he will lose to Mayorga probably.
De La Hoya is the most overrated fighter in the last 50 years.Them man is only popular because he is mexican.If he was white,black,blue or green none of you would give a damn about him.Hopefully he will lose to Mayorga and then i will never have to see this guy in the boxing ring again.
