Mayweather vs Marciano: Who was Greater?

It's completely logical to have either guy ahead for whatever reason, just make sure those are the right reasons. That is what I meant by my first post.

Mayweather by a whole, whole lot based on his competition. I do believe that keeping and defending a heavyweight title deserves extra credit but Floyd has won more title fights than non-title fights over 5 divisions. That's hard to dispute.

I based it on resume and skills (Ploder can have his skills and craft too),Rocky is historical figure for Boxing,but in terms of achivments Floyd is ahead.

same here. i wasnt an ali fan at all but damn it if he wasnt truly the greatest. im not talking about head to head hypothetical fights. going straight off of actual accomplishments and resume. ali stands above them all.

I rate Joe Louis and Ali pretty close to the same but gun to my head, I'm sure Ali gets the nod. That said, I think Ali would lose a lot of H2H matchups, especially how the first Frazier fight went and how big heavies are now days.

the good thing about most LOGICAL h2h's is, no one is wrong.

the ali vs frazier is another triangular concept that gets tested; ali had problems with joe, foreman ate up joe, ali humbled george.

Lots of people hate Mayweather so that is likely the main reason. Also older fighters get more credit than newer ones. I mean Marciano has been enshrined as a great for 60 years.
