Marcianio was a heavyweight, and therefore better. P4P doesn't exist in the real world, grand scheme of things.

Pound for pound doesn't exist in the real world? Funny, boxing has been using it to measure who is the best fighter(s) in the sport for decades now and it certainly exists in the form of money, publicity, endless hours of discussion and so on. It's how we can say Golovkin is a better fighter than David Price or Audley Harrison, for example. No one, ever, would say "well Audrey Harrison is a heavyweight, therefore is better than Golovkin". Because that, of course, would be ******ed.
      You'd think that wouldn't you?

The poster El Blanco once called me "literally ******ed" for saying the opposite. He believes if you're lighter than Heavyweight you can't be greater because the HW would win H2H.

Rocky Marciano isn't even an ATG. No where close to the Top 100 fighters ever.

Floyd is easily amongst the Top 50 at the very least.

        Not even close to arguable.

lol People have been using it as a barometer for decades because it's the only way smaller fighters can get any kind of love. But imagine if in the real world, there exists someone walking around saying they're the baddest man on the planet. Then when someone much bigger than them challenges them to a fight to prove it, they say, "Nah, you're too big. I'm still the baddest there is though because I can kick anybody's ass as long as they're my own size." They would get laughed at and ridiculed.

Floyd is, admittedly, better than Marciano skill and resume wise. But he could not defeat Marciano in a fight, therefore...

Marciano was the only champ. He didn't fight this guy for one title then another for another, he couldn't pick opponents.

This thread clearly shows how many don't follow boxing. If it was Mayweather vs Pep in a poll that'd be something, highly in favor of Pep of course, but Marciano? cmon

SRR wasn't undefeated at the end even though he fought 5 times the number of fights as FMW and RM

Drug free mate except for the odd steroid when I was younger.

What are you trying to argue here? That Rocky Marciano is an ATG?

He's arguably not even an ATG Heavyweight (depending on criteria) let alone ATG in general.

Quite frankly I think Joe Calzaghe is better. Someone who fought both JC and RJJ said JC was better than RJJ.
