But GGG has been saying since 2012 he wanted to unify.
Why are you even on BoxingScene if you don't want to believe their reporting? I didn't make that up! That was a reporter straight from BoxingScene! They sais their strategy was to unify, HOWEVER they were still interested in Chavez Jr. and Froch, but not Ward! Believe what you want. I'm just glad that Ward had the balls to move up and chase Kovalev! THAT'S WHAT CHAMPIONS DO!

      That says it all.

Ive only seen a few say that, and usually it's because they're being asked to fight him.

Of course, they've publicaly said if Ward gets his groove back and beats Kovalev they'd be interested in big fight, but after they unify. They would have fought Ward in 2014 too.

First off, no one offered Ward 164, k2 put that out there when they asked what would it take to make now (before GGG moves up).

And there would be no headlines, no one gives a damn about Ward. And Ward refused to meet Chad in the middle. Ward forced Chad Dawson does to 168 from 175, wouldn't even grant a CW fight.

Only difference now Ward is moving to 175, while GGG wouldn't be moving up to 168 before he unifies and breaks the records.

Ward was bigger than Froch and GGG is a smaller MW, Ward chasing him is kind of silky. It's not him testing himself, it's GGG testing himself.

And now Ward says never, while k2 has never said that.
So if Ward goes from 168 to 175, and beats Kovalev, he's then supposed to fight GGG at what weight...164, 168? GTFOH!

ya wasnt worth the risk lol we all know thats the reason. u cant act like ur the most avoided then keep using money as an excuse to not fight top level guys i mean give me a break cant have it both ways. people avoid ggg cause its not worth the risk for the money and they are ducking but when ggg does it its ok?

I hate to beat a dead horse but it just amazes me how ggg fanatics cant see the hypocrisy

Bottom line when the fight was on the table Ward ducked GGG.

Ward didnt duck GGG. He said I'll fight you next year after I have a tune up next year, and I'm not dropping a pound of weight for you. It was lil g ducking azz that said you might have to wait a few extra months for that. He didnt want it, I gotta move on to the next fighter to tune up for.

Lil g was the one ducking with that meet me in middle talk. And 50-50?? What kind of split is that? I'm worth 60-40 but I'll take a loss for lil g. But he didnt want it. Turned Ward down in 5 seconds. Ward wanted a fight 12 months away, not 18, you duck.

            (sarcasm: off)

Would've loved to see this fight. Unortunately Golovkin, Sanchez and K2 gave us a million reasons as to why the fight shouldn't happen and robbed fans of the opprotunity.
A lot of fans were very disappointed that GGG vs Ward never happened, and probably never will.

Ward's injuries, law suites and seemingly never ending need for tune-ups before facing a credible opponent like Golovkin cheated us all.

Ward's size advantage would have given him a chance, but GGG's craftiness and power would likely have been too much for Ward, and I think Andre and Virgil Hunter both knew that.
So why is ggg ok with fighting the BIGGER froch or chavez jr at FULL 168?

I can't blame GGG for wanting cotto and Canelo as they were MW champs like him.
hold up! Didn't lilg say that he would still want a fight with cotto?
