PIPEBOMB!Do you have anything from HBO saying that, or only Loeffler? It's real simple, you believe Loeffler and I believe Ward. Loeffler said he got the e-mail hourS after he announced, and Ward said the e-mail was sent "like a week before." The reason I don't believe Loeffler is because he started talking about other reasons why, not just the timing of the e-mail:
October 9, 2015:
According to Loeffler , the offer was rejected because K2 had already finalized Golovkin's upcoming HBO Pay-Per-View fight with Lemieux - and the winner would become the mandatory challenger to the November 21st showdown between WBC champion Miguel Cotto and Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
Loeffler indicates that their strategy, since last year, has been to unify the middleweight division.
However, during that period they did explore potential fights at super middleweight with both Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
When it came it Ward, Loeffler and Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez made it very clear that a catch-weight of 164-pounds would be required. They also feel their boxer deserves a bigger portion of the monetary split. Roc Nation's offer was an even 50-50 deal.
Golovkin came under fire for his catch-weight demand. Loeffler explained that Golovkin fighting at the full weight limit of 168 would only be considered if the event was financially worth the risk. They felt a fight with Ward would not have generated the same financial benefits as a fight with Froch or Chavez.
“We’ve always said when we first got to HBO that we wanted to unify the titles. We said we’d move up to 168 for mega events. Fights with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Carl Froch would have been big events and that’s why we were willing to move up and we were willing to go down for a Floyd Mayweather fight before but we always said we wanted unification fights,” Loeffler told BoxingScene.com.
Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.
So you see, Loeffler had more than just a late e-mail as an excuse! Basically, his statements line-up with what Ward was saying, which is: HE DON'T WANT THE FIGHT!

Yep, GGG is wrong on that, maybe because he feels he can't beat Ward at 168 but he can beat the other two even at 168.
But the point is, Why Ward didnt feel he could beat GGG at 164? Because GGG certainly did.Comment

u do realize the whole 164 thing was just to stop the talk team ggg never counter offered with an offer of 164. they knew ward couldnt make 164 and they just wanted the talk to be done without taking heat and that was an easy out for themComment

I dont even see the point in ward going down to 164. Its utter nonsense. For one, like you agreed, he can fight TWO OTHER BIGGER GUYS at 168. Second, ggg's team said ANYONE from 154-168Comment

I do hope one day they fight,....... and GGG prevails victorious. Like it or not, Golovkin is one of the biggest names in the sport geared towards mainstream America. Let's not forget the fact that he is at his prime right now and father-time is against him. He ain't got the time to diddle around waiting for Canela to decide what he wants to do. That is if the talks are still in the works. Who knows. I like Provodnikov. A real warrior so I respect what he has to say. A lot more than the likes of Lara. I see Eris more in lines to start bringing up the next new comers like a Charlo brother for instance. But back to the subject. It's go time for GGG, and he needs to target Saunders and UNIFY the belts. I have no doubts a GGG/Ward fight won't happen, but it doesn't seem to be a fight neither of them need to feel bothered with right now.Comment

Loeffler was speaking in May 2015. And he says "We've asked Hearn for Froch"Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: We've Asked Hearn For Froch
WBA/IBO middleweight Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) has no problem with testing himself by moving up to the super middleweight division to fight Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs), according to Triple G's promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions. Froch has been inactive since knocking out George Groves before 80,000 fans last May at Wembley Stadium. Golovkin is one of the more active champions in the sport and tries to fight at least four times a year. He's already been in action twice in 2015, with knockouts of Martin Murray and Willie Monroe. A September return is being discussed.

cut the bullshit excuses
Past tense, get it? As in ... before ... at an earlier time ...
But lets just ignore that and pretend that Loeffler is always trying to make a fight with Froch ... like it's part of his daily routine, something he does every day straight after breakfast ...
"Hello Eddie ... only meee .. just wondering if Carl maybe has changed his mind about ... No? .. Ok, no problem. I'll give you a bell tomorrow then ... byeee."Last edited by kafkod; 05-25-2016, 10:12 PM.Comment

there's plenty of more examples well after that date throughout the year. Cut the bs.Loeffler was speaking in May 2015. And he says "We've asked Hearn for Froch"
