Are you ****ing kidding me - "coward?" How the hell is Wilder a coward? He signed to fight Povektin and is currently in Russia ready to fight? Oh, and he's clean. If anyone's a coward it's Povetkin for trying to get an unfair advantage or getting caught on purpose to weasel his way out of the fight.

I guess I'm admittedly biased about povetkin deliberately doping because Wlad, Wilder, Joshua, etc all look like WWF wrestlers and Povetkin looks like he drives a forklift and he's the one testing dirty.

It's a substance that people have been getting busted for left and right because it stays in their systems longer than expected after it was banned.

Plus I just wanted to see this fight...

As a doping official I wouldn't be able to have these opinions and I'd just say he broke the rules end of story but as an anonymous forum poster yeah I'm biased.

Meldonium is what Sharapova failed a test for, it is a heart drug which was outlawed in September 2015.

when the whole sharapova thing happened if i don't remember wrong they said that this substance was banned earlier this year

The decision to ban it was made in Sept 2015, but the ban only came into effect 1st Jan this year.

I read that it builds up in the body and can take months to be eliminated completely if a person has been using it on a long term basis.

Apparently, a lot of Russian athletes used this stuff for years before it got banned. If Povetkin was a long term user and waited till the ban came into effect before coming off it, that could be his downfall.

I think it's quite ironic that US fans were coming on here saying that Povetkin deliberately forced a purse bid for the fight so he could take it to Russia where he would be allowed to use PEDs and Wilder would be stitched up with a false positive if he won.

But wow ... Povetkin is the one who ends up testing positive!

Imo, if this is verified, the fight will be called off. Imagine if it went ahead and Povetkin won by wearing Wilder down over the stretch. Wilder would kick up a hell of a stink about it, and he would have every right to do so.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned before but this may be of interest:

Most remember that sexy Sharapova meldonium twist but in fact that story was much wider. At that very moment more than 200 athlets from different sports were cought positive with meldonium. Majority of them from eastern Europe where this drag is available (legal drag that one can buy in drag store). It's not sold in US or western part of Europe but very similar (different name but same function) drags are sold and used. Other than helping people with weak heart it helps an athlete in recovery from heavy training, helps prevent overtraining.
In september 2015 it was announced that it would be banned from 1/1/2016. And than the bomb exploded Thing is that there's no official study on how long this drag can be traced in the body if it is taken in long term. No data. Zero.
When Sharpova made her magic transformation from sex bomb into a biggest financial looser (she lost over 700m in advertisement contracts - that was rumored during that scandal) there was a lot of buzz here in Russia regarding her and many other athlets. ***** was furious at the minister of sport

Darn! I was waiting for this fight to watch it live here. It was truely a 55/45 fight for me - Povetkin much better schooled and tested against much better opposition. Yes Klitchko was dropping him but he was jumping up and kept trying to fight. Also he really changed his approach to boxing after that only loss. He was on a bit of a roll lately with impressive wins against highly rated fighters.
On the other hand we have very rangy fighter with KO power who showed that he can somewhat box against Stivern and who often showed power.


Darn!!! What a waist! That f$$$cking meldonium was all fine and legal for 30 years now! Now they bunned it and we lost an exellent fight! I just can't believe that they were taking (all those 200+ athletes including Sharapova) meldonium when it's even less than easy to use its analogues that are not bunned! They can't be THAT ****** or can they?
In terms of fighters many of them don't even have enough education capacity to decide what drag to take... We know that they have professionals who have to take care of their regime/diet/suppliments and make sure that it's all legal. How on earth those professionals missed it? They published many analogues that can be taken insteed of meldonium with same effect and zero legal/WADA/VADA problems. Why keep taking meldonium???
