... actually, K2 does have to pay Golovkin 70% of their bid; the discrepency comes with the handling of any upside on the event. No different that N'Dam-Lemieux, the bid for the fight was dirt cheep, the fighters split the bid accordingly, but Lemieux made a ton of additional money on the upside of the event which N'Dam didn't get.

If K2 bids an amount that they 1) don't put down the bond percentage for or 2)have no intent on actually paying the bid, K2 loses the fight by rule.

Because you know that, for sure Jacobs' lawyer/manager is going to sue for the contracted purse, and I don't doubt that Golovkin's manager would sue for the contracted purse (and win)

Why wait on the lilg-canelo situation for?

If that date is locked and the wba mandates the fight I see no problem with lilg fighting on that date at the barclays if they have no opponent set up.

That late May date is, to me, a drop-dead point in this round of talks. End of May through the end of July is a lot of time to work with.
I actually feel the opposite about Canelo vs GGG. I think GGG is finally going to get his shot after being avoided by Sergio & Miguel & even for a fight Canelo. And Canelo has stated he'd fight GGG at 160 its about his team agreeing to it more or less. I think with that out there GBP won't let this go to a situation where Canelo losing his belt over something he's cool with doing. The damage to Canelo's image is debatable with this happening, but there is no arguing there will be damage. There is always a chance the WBC pulls some WBC tricks doe so who knows.

With Jacobs seemingly already in camp, the rest of things will simply come down to DiBella(representing Jacobs) and Loeffler(representing Golovkin) working with the WBA to settle the mandatory defense situation, if Alvarez-Golovkin doesn't happen.

If the the deal gets done, Jacobs has a stage and TV date already locked in to negotiate from. If it gets slow-walked by K2, Golovkin likely gets put on the shelf for a bit (Jacobs is of no demand to give up his position, and Golovkin likely doesn't get to fight unless the WBA lets him defend the WBC and IBF belts), Jacobs gets his summer fight, and Golovkin has to fight him in the Fall.
Yea I could see this. I just don't see the rush on Jacobs to make a fight that isn't even fully on the table yet. Life moves on & if Jacobs has had a fight in play already + will have a lil rust on him, I see nothing wrong with getting active again & setting up a fight a few months down the line. I mean things have been pushed out for worse reasons. I mean GGG vs Canelo got pushed out so they could "build their fight up" supposedly with public executions of Wade & Khan.

In theory you're right. But I'd assume thats booked as a Showtime or NBC card with whoevers secured the venue (DiBella?) & they have obligations to meet with them. Plus assuming HBO would have a problem with GGG fighting off HBO.

Yes Larry he is. All he has to do is wait 2 weeks but there is a reason he secured the date and that's because he want no part of he that is GGG

Yes the gullible gennady groupies are dead serious. but when lilg says no to a fight etc.... ITS A OK!

Didnt Canelo say at the post-fight presser that he was fine with 160?

Oh wait, of course that doesnt matter. It only matters if Abel / Loeffler / GGG say something, even from 3 years ago. Then its written in stone
