Wonder what will be the split if they do agree.. All the below seems fair..
160 - 70/30
158 - 60/40
157 - 55/45

Does this purse bid split also consider the new rule of winner takes the step aside 10%..

I believe that GGG and his team will take less money and insist on at least 158...they will still make millions more than with any other fight....158 will be easier for GGG than it is for Canelo....GGG has fought a couple of fights weighing 158......then there will be a rematch clause for more millions...that will keep Oscar happy....

Nope, he didn't. He never came on the scales under 159 as a pro.

Doesn't really make sense because then the fight depends on the outcome of the purse bid, specifically who wins in. Too many things can go wrong in such a situation.

Agreed.. What juices Canelo is rehydrating on that he gains 20-25lbs in 24 hrs, sure as hell won't be on just water & gatorade.. lol..

He refused to be weighed on the fight night recently.. may be he was well over LHW weight limit I guess.. lol..

Good thing former lightweights like Duran had the balls to fight middleweights and even higher and former featherweights like Arguello had the balls to fight junior welterweights and even Vinnie Pazienza came from lightweight to fight middleweights. Guess it takes a special pair of balls for a middleweight champion to fight a 160 pound fighter!

It fucking sucks. Now we're happy to get a reasonable catchweight within a few pounds of the weightclass limit.

Let's see if K2/GGG accept the terms of GBP to make the fight or if they want the belt via strip. I think if GGG refuses to come down and gets the WBC belt because Canelo gets stripped, there's some fights Canelo can take in the meantime, other MW's will probably accept a catchweight of 157 or so for the money Canelo brings. Maybe we get Canelo vs Saunders at a cw.

I hope Canelo-GGG come to an agreement at 157, maybe make a compromise. Canelo budges 2lbs, Golovkin budges 3lbs, sounds fair.

I think that K2 is willing to take less money as a bargaining tool to fight at 158 to 160.....K2 will make millions anyways and they are confident that GGG will win....that makes them sure that they will also make millions more in a rematch which will be part of the negotiations....this will keep Oscar happy....after all it is the money they want.....

I thought the same thing......makes one suspect Canelo was at least 175 pounds on fight night....they didn't even ask Khan if he wanted to be weighed as it was of no importance....Canelo weighed 171 pounds on fight night against Lara two years ago....and Canelo is much bigger now.....GGG weighed 171 pounds two weeks ago in his fight against Wade......Canelo is actually a naturally bigger man than GGG....Canelo is definitely a middleweight....Canelo looked almost sick making the 155 pounds against Khan......I believe even Canelo wants at least 157......it will be easier for GGG to make 157 than Caneloi....that's my opinion....

it would also sound fair to make the fight at 160, if Canelo doesn't want it, strip him and make BJS VS GGG at 160 for the MW belt.

Of course i would prefer to see some concessions from both parts and get this fight done.
