Let's see if K2/GGG accept the terms of GBP to make the fight or if they want the belt via strip. I think if GGG refuses to come down and gets the WBC belt because Canelo gets stripped, there's some fights Canelo can take in the meantime, other MW's will probably accept a catchweight of 157 or so for the money Canelo brings. Maybe we get Canelo vs Saunders at a cw.

I hope Canelo-GGG come to an agreement at 157, maybe make a compromise. Canelo budges 2lbs, Golovkin budges 3lbs, sounds fair.

Yea I think a catchweight at 157/158 seems reasonable. 155 never seemed THAT reasonable to me. It seemed kinda bs to me actually cuz its 1lb from the weight division he was "too big for" lol by a 1lb apparently.

With the upside of this fight a more reasonable catchweight should get this fight done. I mean if GGG just gets the titles its not really gonna do all that much for him. You need to actually win in the ring & you need to beat the guys like Canelo to get yourself where one would think he wants to be. If he just wants titles & isn't concerned with money & legacy at all then fair enough, but I suspect he cares about titles, money & legacy & knows fighting Canelo is what needs to happen regardless if he wins or loses. Just like it needs to happen for Canelo.

Hopefully a middleweight champion will be forced to do what the middleweights in boxing history did, without being a Diva, fight a 160 pound fighter!! Canelo is going to look like a Puta if he vacates instead of fighting GGG. Maybe all the pressure will get to him and he will accept the fight.

Seems reasonable to me. I hope GGG can understand that for his own sake. If he becomes champion due to Canelo dropping the belt, it hurts them both just as bad. GGG needs this bad. What's 3 lbs? Say yes, drop Canelo, and you're the star you want. It's easy.

60/40 maybe 65/35 split at 157 seems fair, with Canelo obviously getting any money from mexico or whatever deals he has

I agree. I also like both fighters. I am not a huge fan but respect their skills. I think this fight needs to be made next. After the circus of Mayweather-Pacquaio, It would be better to go ahead and have the fight in September 17th. There should be a rematch clause as well so they could fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend as well in 2017. It is only good for boxing. I think a catchweight of 157 is fair and i think Canelo should be 65 to 35 on purse split. The fight could be made at Cowboy Stadium or in Vegas or LA. Canelo needs to do what is right and he will earn respect by fighting ggg , just like GGG will earn it fighting Canelo. This is an important time for boxing to do this now and do it right.

Good thing former lightweights like Duran had the balls to fight middleweights and even higher and former featherweights like Arguello had the balls to fight junior welterweights and even Vinnie Pazienza came from lightweight to fight middleweights. Guess it takes a special pair of balls for a middleweight champion to fight a 160 pound fighter!
