i think RJJ knew he could'nt beat Nunn, u should watch some of Nunns fights in the 80s & 2 me he looks even slicker than Sugar Ray Leonard !

He would have had trouble with him, no doubt. Nunn was a slick bastard.

Malinga ******. A very disinterested Eubank clearly won every minute of every round against Malinga, and even caught him with that ridiculous loopy overhand right in round five and had Malinga down for about 15 seconds (long count).

But then again, 99% of Jones Jr's opponents ******

I haven't heard a thing about calzage yet Did you guys forget he's been a champ for 8 years. His people were trying to make a fight with roy for years....he started jumpin up and down in weight cause he didn't wanna mess with joe....Roy definitely gets his place in history for his amazing talent and the few real fights that he did have. But roy will not go down in history for being a great warrior or a champion who took on anybody that that appeared to be a real threat or just as exciting as he was when he was in his prime...it was always somebody a few notches under him...that's how johnson got him...roy thought he was going to be a push-over, and intern he got pushed over

That's why the commisions ought to start banning these freaking alpha-belts. When there was just ONE CHAMP per division....everybody had to eventually meet because the only way to be that man was to beat the man. Alpha-belts suck.

PBF34, yes it`s true that Wharton certainly wasn`t in any way, shape or form Roy J.J but that fight proved to me Eubank could maintain his work for the full 12 (which he never usually could do) if he prepared right. I think you have to reverse the thinking, instead of thinking how could Eubank beat Roy it`s more a case of how could Roy beat Eubank? ? Eubank was the one with the longest unbeaten record in professional boxing after the Wharton fight and the only time he was ever troubled was being pressured due to his inability to maintain work for the full three minutes or even for 90 seconds of the three minutes. Roy is simply not a natural pressure fighter, you cannot beat Eubanks at a slow pace IMO (there is no evidence that you can!). He has a even more unorthodox style than Roy had, even better reflexes than Roy had (although Roy`s were faster) and he was even smarter than Roy was

Eubank was so physically strong, awkward, cagey and such a solid chin that I have come to the conclusion that you can only outwork him to beat him (like Collins and Calzaghe did) unless you have particular size advantage

Moschino045, nice excuses for Benn but for me Benn was a much better fighter at 160 and never was the same at 168

Yes Nunn was dubbed as the next Sugar Ray Leonard once upon a time but that was a long long time before there was talk of him fighting Roy in the mid 90`s to late 90`s
