Duh! Floyd made 2m ppv when he fought Cotto, Canelo couldn't even tank 1m when he faced Cotto.

Everyone, fans, haters, promoters, fighters, journalists, analysts, trainers, etc etc, can't even keep Mayweather out of their lips.

Even now, Oscar and Amir Khan are talking about Mayweather in order top promote the Canelo-Khan fight, even mma fighters use Floyd to promote their fights.

I'm low key rooting that Khan does the unbelievable this weekend at this point. Oscar steady trying to act like Khan is Godzilla to help sell PPV's, while avoiding a real fight people wanna see vs GGG & acting like Canelo is the **** vs anyone. You can't have it all 3 ways bro. These mfers aren't close to doing some Floyd or Manny caliber **** in the sport & already resting on their laurels vs Khan & probably another bs guy in September.

Golovkin did less than 150k PPV buys (whether the number got down to 97k, the final number was likely closer to 100k than it was to 150k) at $50 a pop (less than $7m in PPV revenue; maybe $3m in money to the pot) and $2m at the gate.

On the raw numbers alone, the split is likely 80/20 Canelo; you add that Golovkin is thirsting for the fight and 90/10 Alvarez isn't all that out of the question.

No way would Golovkin fight them for that.

An 80/20 offer would mean that GBP/Canelo don't want the fight.

I am not saying that your figures are wrong..... just that your figures won't get the fight made.

Same with Team Golovkin demanding 160.

If either of those guys make those kind of demands, they can forget it.

Mayweather gave Pacquiao 40%, and if you calculated the actual numbers for those guys as you did above, technically no way would Pac deserve 40%.

Mayweather did that to get the fight made, and to make a large piece of a huge pie, rather than almost all of nothing. Those guys will have to do business, and they will have to be reasonable.

Wouldn't it be nice for promoters to inject a bit of humility and common sense into their statements for a change. I get that they is there to promote their fighters but ffs, 70-30 Canelo-Mayweather!! Didn't he see the demolition of his boy last time, and make no mistake it would be more of the same again next time round.
